Oh, complete one who is mercifully residing in thirunaRaiyUr! Entering me in my heart and manifesting the leelAs of hamsAvathAram and varAhAvathAram, oh mischievous one who made my heart as yours! Even while saying these, my eyes are flooeded with happy tears. Alas! When I meditated in my heart on you who worked for my liberation, I melted. Other than you, I won’t desire for any matter. “O” indicates great joy.

Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

puLLAy … – [For you] To eliminate my sorrow, is the sorrow I endured, not enough? Have you not taken birth in the species in which even I have not been born? He manifested his forms such as hamsa (swan), varAha (wild boar) etc and captivated my heart. He made the heart which is the cause for bondage to become the cause for my liberation as said in SrIvishNu purANam “mana Eva manushyANAm kAraNam bandha mOkshayO:” (mind is the only cause for a person’s bondage and liberation).

kaLvA … – bhagavAn entered AzhwAr’s heart without AzhwAr’s knowledge since AzhwAr will not accept his entry, if known about his arrival. As AzhwAr meditated upon this favour of bhagavAn, his eyes became wet.

en kaNgaL … – My eyes which were previously crying for women.

As I started meditating upon you, my heart became melted and broken.

naLLEn … – Now, I will not engage with any other matter, even if one hundred thousand things come in front of me.

naRaiyUr … – Will I fit with these worldly matters when you have arrived ahead of me in this samsAram where I am suffering, and are standing there? Due to his overwhelming joy, he is saying “O” [in nambiyO].
