thiruvAimozhip piLLai, in his svApadhESam, says that AzhwAr recalls the ability of SrI varAham [the great boar], which is beyond the abilities of human species.

Word-by-Word Meanings
vAnaththu – in the sky

mazhai mugil pOl – like great rain bearing clouds

Simple Translation
emperumAn took the form of a great boar, which looked like a great rain-bearing cloud rising up in the sky. He roamed around, all over the forests, digging up and eating foods such as kOraik kizhangu (sedge-tuber). With pride, he played merrily and dug out earth from the walls of the universe. We will perish on account of the one who kept the earth, with all its lands in their respective place. We will perish on account of the one who uplifted the earth.
vyAkhyAnam (Commentary)
vAnaththu ezhundha mazhai mugil pOl – Like the rain bearing clouds, which rose up in the sky. Through this, the complexion of the divine form has been mentioned. idandha – removing from the walls of the universe.
thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that through the term vAnaththu ezhundha mazhai mugil pOl, the complexion of emperumAn’s divine form was mentioned. Alternatively, it would refer to the eminence of the clouds which have risen. Through the term pOl, the equivalence is shown; through the term ezhundha, the greatness of great boar, over the clouds, is shown.
engum kAnaththu mEyndhu – roaming around, in the forest, without any fear of enemies and sustaining on tubers such as kOraik kizhangu.
thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that the term engum implies that without the presence of any hurdle such as lions, tigers etc, the boar roamed around everywhere.
kaLiththu viLaiyAdi – playing, with the pride of the species [of boar]
Enaththu uruvAy – without stepping back from water or mud
idandha … – digging out the earth, which has got stuck to the walls of the universe, just as it has been mentioned in thiruvAImozhi 7.4.3 “nAnRilavEzh maNNum dhAnaththavE” (picking up the earth such that the seven islands within it did not move even a little bit). We will perish on account of the one who kept the earth with all its lands in their original places, without any movement.
thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that the pAsuram should be rearranged as vAnaththu ezhundha mazhai mugil pOlE Enaththu uruvAy thAn idanthAnAl inRu muRRum, idandha immaNNinai thAnaththE vaiththuk kAnaththu mEyndhu kaLiththu viLaiyAdinAnAl inRu muRRum to get the sequential meanings.
Alternatively, he says
vAnam … – like the rain bearing clouds which rose up in the sky, like the monsoon clouds
engum – in all the places
kAnaththu mEyndhu – grazing in the gardens
kaLiththu viLaiyAdi – immersing in the deluge of ocean, playing with a huge pride
Enaththu uruvAy idandha immaNNinai – as a great boar which could not be contained in the upper worlds, digging out the earth from the walls of the universe, keeping them back in their respective position, just as it has been mentioned in thiruvAimozhi 7.4.3 “Ezh maNNum – nAnRila thAnaththavE” (the seven islands within earth did not move even a little bit; they were placed in their original positions)
dharaNi idandhAnAl – just as it has been mentioned as “idandha immaN” (this earth which has been dug out), the one who dug out earth.
In this interpretation, the pAsuram should be rearranged as mazhaimugil pOl Enaththu uruvAy vAnaththu ezhundha kAnaththu engum mEyndhu kaLiththu viLaiyAdith tharaNi idandhAnAl inRu muRRum, idandha immaNNinai thAnaththE vaiththAnAl inRu muRRum, to get sequential meanings.
dharaNi … – We will perish on account of the one who uplifted the earth which had got immersed [in the water of deluge]
