Simple Translation
Oh, the independent entity! You roll over oil pots; you wake up little children, who are deeply asleep, by pinching them hard such that they scream. You indulge in intolerable mischiefs such as flipping your eyelids, exposing the inner reddish part of the eyelids, frightening the children further. Oh, one who is complete with the complexion of a belligerent ocean with agitating waves! I will offer you fruits which you could consume. You should come for a bath.
vyAkhyAnam (Commentary)
eNNey … – In order to make the people in their houses to engage with other activities [instead of looking after sleeping children], krishNa would roll down pots containing oil. Once they see oil spilling, the people will run to stop it and to fill up the pots again with the spilt oil, feeling distressed
iLam piLLai kiLLi ezhuppi – he would then pinch the sleeping children who will wake up screaming [due to the pain suffered due to pinching]. Once they hear the children screaming, the people, who were engaged earlier in scooping out the spilt oil, would come running to check on the children who are screaming.
thiruvAimozhip piLLai says, in his svApadhESam, that krishNa would flip his eyelids, similar to his act in appUchchi, frightening children who had just then got up from their sleep, and make them to scream. The purpose of doing this is to indulge in his favourite acts [of stealing food] due to the commotion which he had created. Oh, one who carries out such mischiefs as your pastime!
kaNNaip purAtti vizhiththu – he would flip his eyelids by making the inner, red, fleshy part to get exposed and frighten people nearby, similar to his activity seen earlier in the appUchchi padhigam.
kazhagaNdu seyyum pirAnE – Oh, the completely independent entity who indulges in such intolerable mischievous acts! You appear to be outside anyone’s ability to control you. The implied meaning is that yaSOdhAp pirAtti wants him to be obedient towards her and to listen to her request.
uNNak kanigaL tharuvan – I will give you fruits such as blue berry, which you consume desirously.
oli kadal … – Oh, one who is complete by having the complexion of the agitating waters, seen as waves in an ocean, which is belligerent!
manjanamAda nI vArAy – You should come for taking a bath such that the beauty of your divine form gets manifested.
