Simple translation
In the past, krishNa agitated the pond of kALiyan who was having cruel poison to make it become slushy, tormented him and jumped on his hood to break it and cause the many gems on his head to scatter by performing many dances; the abode of such krishNa is the dhivyadhESam named thiruveLLiyangudi where the ladies who are having thigh region similar to that of a snake with vast hood, are practicing drama the sound of which is rising high, day and night, being together and remaining on the sky with tumultuous sound.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
kadu vidam udaiya … – kALiyan is having such cruel poison which will make even birds which are flying forty to fifty miles above the pond will have their wings break and fall down; krishNa jumped into such kALiyan’s pond, made it become slushy and caused torment to him.
avan than padam iRap pAyndhu – Climbing atop the kadamba tree on the shore, he jumped to crash kALiyan’s hoods and to make the gems which were present on the hoods to scatter.
pal nadam payinRavan kOyil – He danced in many ways to write down many aspects of bharatha (dance) SAsthram. The abode where he is residing.
pada aravu … – Ladies, who are having thigh region looking similar to snake with vast hood, are practicing drama. That sound goes and reaches,
adai pudai thazhuvi – Being together in day and night, goes to the sky and makes tumultuous sound.
