Simple Translation
River gangA has the eminence of removing, in a moment, all the sins which have been gathered over seven births. The divine abode of kaNdam, which stands on the bank of such gangA, is the dwelling place for purushOththaman, who has weapons such as plough, pestle, bow, beautiful, effulgent disc, divine conch, axe, sword etc, and who is the lord of all.
vyAkhyAnam
uzhuvadhu Or padaiyum – plough, pestle, bow
thiruvAimozhip piLLai, in his svApadhESam, says that emperumAn has general and distinguished weapons for the protection of his followers [weapons such as plough [which he has, in common with balarAman] and axe [which he has, in common paraSurAman] and weapons such as divine disc, divine conch etc which are distinguished weapons, held only by him].
villum – SrI SArngam, the divine bow
oN sudar Azhiyum – divine disc, which is beautiful and effulgent
sangum – SrI pAnchajanyam (divine conch)
mazhuvodu vALum – axe and nAndhakam (divine sword)
padaikkalam udaiya – Having these as weapons
mAl purudOththaman vAzhvu – divine abode of purushOththaman, who has these weapons for annihilating the enemies of his followers and having an eminence due to that.
ezumaiyum kUdi Indiya pAvam – ellAm – all the sins, which have been gathered over many births
thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that among all the sins committed in the earlier births, removing those which have been eliminated by emperumAn on account of bhakthi and prapaththi [devotion and surrendering], with the resultant prArabdha [those sins which have started giving results], keeping aside the virtues, river gangA has the eminence of removing these sins for those, who immerse in its waters. Liberation from sins would accrue to one, who knows the sins which he has committed, has the desire to get rid of those, goes to an assembly of righteous people, being ordained by them to go and immerse in the waters of gangA, reaches the bank of gangA , prays for the elimination of the sins and immerses in the water.
iRaippozhudhu aLavinil kazhuvidum perumaik kangaiyin karai mEl – on the bank of river gangA, which has the eminence of removing in a moment, all the sins of people, who immerse themselves in its waters
thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that gangA removes the sins and makes the person purified.
kaNdam ennum kadi nagarE – It is the divine name, kaNdam, for that divine abode.
