Simple translation

You tell me “What return favour can be done by me, who is a parathanthra, to bhagavAn for his such great favours?” He has acquired fame due to residing in my heart only; being the controller of thanjai mA maNik kOyil, he previously tore away hiraNya’s chest; being unapproachable like fire, he built a bridge on the ocean surrounding the town of rAvaNAsura who is having sword, the weapon, to make that town become ruins; he is surrendered to by dhEvathAs; he is like a huge mountain; he is having a cool form like that of a mountain which is filled with blue gems; my heart will not perform mangaLASAsanam saying “Long live!” to anyone other than such bhagavAn.

Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

en seygEn … – I can’t remain without doing return favour; but I am not seeing what I can do as favour. What can I do?

adiyEn … – Since my true nature is to be a parathanthra, I don’t have anything in my hand as principal; what can I do?

uraiyIr – You, who are on the shore, being neutral (without full engagement with bhagavAn), will be able to tell me.

enRum … – Since you [emperumAn] are constantly residing in my heart, you are having fame. One who stood in thanjAvUr to enter my heart.

pon peyarOn … – One who helped me long ago. [AzhwArs consider bhagavAn’s help to others as help to them]

thazhalE … – He remains unreachable by any enemy due to emanating fire, being unconquerable, being ready to help; he built a bridge on the ocean which is like a moat for the lankA of rAkshasa [rAvaNa] who acquired the shining sword from a dhEvathA [rudhra].

imaiyOr … – brahmA et al. On regaining their abodes, after the rAma-rAvaNa yudhdham, they praised SrIrAma as in SrI rAmAyaNam yudhdha kANdam 120-13 “abravIchchruNu mE rAma sathyam sathya parAkrama l bhavAn nArAyaNO dhEva:  SrImAmSchakrAyudhO vibhu: ll” (Oh rAma, the true warrior! Listen to my words: You are the consort of divine mahAlakshmi, the one who holds divine disc, and the lord nArAyaNa who pervades everything and everywhere), as one who remained with radiant form due to that. He remained with a cool complexion thinking “I got to fulfil their desires”. Other than such bhagavAn, my heart will not perform mangaLASAsanam to anyone saying “pORRi” (Long live). My heart will not perform mangaLASAsanam to anyone other than the one who is said in thiruppallANdu 3pAzhALAgap padai porudhAnukku” (One who took up arms to turn lankA into ruins). AzhwAr is saying “I who am a samsAri (materialistic person) got the benefit which is received by the nithyasUris. Since I am parathanthra, I am unable to see any return favour. What can I do? Please tell me”.
