Simple Translation
Oh, chandhran, who is complete! Do not be derisive towards my son who is like a lion cub. Go to mahAbali and listen to him about krishNa’s activities as a child. If you think that thinking mean about krishNa is an offence, then you too would qualify to be his servitor. He, who is the lord of all, is calling you with an urge.
vyAkhyAnam (Commentary)
siRiya … – Do not think about my son, who is like a lion cub in his valour and pride, despicably, by looking at his age and considering him as “a little child”. thiruvAimozhip piLLai says, in his svApadhESam: chandhran has a doubt – “Are you thinking whether anyone, who is a child, had jumped up before?” In that case, you have not heard about the eminence of his [krishNa’s] small form. mahAbali has got rid of his pride of being magnanimous, which he had got due to his pathos of carrying out his deeds constantly, and is now in the pathos of meditating about the supreme being, in the nether world. You could go there and listen to him. Do not despise my little child who is like a lion cub.
saiRumai … – go to mahAbali and hear from him about the distinguishing activity of my son, who went to mahAbali as vAmana, seeking three seps of land, charmed him, measured all the worlds with two steps and imprisoned him with the third.
siRimai[pizhai koLLil] … – if you realise that it was an offence thinking lowly about such an entity, then you would also qualify for carrying out servitude towards him. thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here – If you [referring to chandhran] consider that “emperumAn had to go in the form of vAmana [dwarf form] because of our offences, due to our pride”. If you think “Am I too required?” realise that for you too, being dependent on emperumAn, while carrying out your duty [of rising in the evening and setting in the morning] which has been ordained, even that has been done through emperumAn’s divine mind.
niRai … – Oh, chandhran who is complete! He, who is the lord of all, is calling you, with an urgency. The opinion here is that in line with his quality of being complete, chandhran should come at once. thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here: Aren’t you one with full knowledge? Is there anything which you do not know about duty ordained through his divine mind? Just as it has been said in thaiththirIya upanishath SIkshAvalli that various celestial entities such as vAyu [wind], sUrya [sun], agni [fire], indhra et al carry out their duties out of fear of emperumAn, one has to carry out an errand out of fear too. nedumAl viraindhu unnaik kUvuginRAn – he [emperumAn] is not limited, like you. His infatuation towards you now is coming out of his independence. In line with that infatuation, come immediately.
