Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

indhiran … – Primary dhEvathAs such as indhra, brahmA, rudhra who are all created by bhagavAn. Since indhra is spoken in the beginning, even before brahmA and rudhra, it is to be understood that, overall there is not much difference between them; when some say chathurmukha (four headed brahmA) as ISvara (supreme lord), rudhra will also have such ISvarathvam (lordship); in this manner these persons who are primary for the world, being freed from pride, surrender to sarvESvaran, reciting his countless auspicious qualities and praising him.

pal uyirkkellAm … – Being the father who looks after the well-being for all creatures, mother who fulfils the desires, sons who relieve their parents from hell, countless paternal relatives, other relatives who approach and never leave, the medicine which eliminates such connection with samsAram, state of absolute peace after being relieved from the connection with samsAram, the resting abode during deluge for all AthmAs, the joy attained through protection, and the creation too which is indicated by these two (deluge and protection).
