In the previous thirumozhi (divine words of the tenth decad), even though ANdAL was certain that emperumAn is of the type who will not speak contradictorily as she had said in nAchchiyAr thirumozhi 10-5 “kumaranAr sol” and that even if his word fails, that her being born as the divine daughter of periyAzhwAr, of whom she had said in 10-10 as “villipuththUr vittuchiththar thangaL dhEvarai vallaparisu varuvipparEl adhu kANdumE” will not fail and that her connection with periyAzhwAr will certainly provide her benefit, she did not see emperumAn helping her. Just like bhIshma, who was lying on a bed of arrows after being hit on the vulnerable spot by arjuna’s arrows, she was in distress, being repeatedly reminded of emperumAn by various entities. Seeing her condition, the mothers and friends in her proximity said “We should find out the reason for her distress”, assembling in front of her, leaving aside their chores. Looking at them, she said with sorrow “I was certain that my connection with periyAzhwAr would be the means to attaining the ultimate benefit. emperumAn has acted in such a way that my bangles have slid out. Had he come to the street where I am residing, he could have helped me, but he is not doing that. He was one who had striven hard without sleep and food, for sIthAp pirAtti”. She brings the decad to its completion by saying “He, who had protected rukmiNip pirAtti, who was like me, from SiSupAlan, will not stop without helping me”, somehow holding on to her life.
