Saying “I got to see bhagavAn in thirukkaNNamangai”, thirumangai AzhwAr mercifully spoke with love these ten pAsurams having music which is an attribute of song, which are present in beautiful thamizh language; those who are able to learn and recite these pAsurams will become joyful, going to the beautiful heaven where moon is roaming and becoming dhEvathAs. Oh, the supreme lord, who is holding SrI pAnchajanyam which is white and distinguished! If we were to speak about the real benefit and if it is agreeable to your divine heart, even for you, who are omniscient, the meanings of these pAsurams are apt to be learnt.

Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

kaNNamangaiyuL kaNdu koNdEn enRu – Saying “I got to see bhagavAn, who is seen after reaching the special abode of paramapdham, right here in this samsAram, in thirukkaNNamangai”.

kAdhalAl kali kanRi urai seydha – Mercifully spoken by AzhwAr due to overwhelming love.

vaNNa oN thamizh onbadhOdu onRu ivai – These ten pAsurams, which are having music and are beautiful.

vallarAy uraippAr – Considering the difficulty in reciting the pAsurams fully in sequence, for those who would like to recite, AzhwAr is saying “If anyone is able to recite”.

madhiyam thavazh viNNil viNNavarAy magizhveydhuvar – They will enter the higher worlds and enjoy the enjoyable aspects in there fully.

meymmai sollil – If we were to explain the nature of the meanings of these pAsurams.

veN sangam … – Oh supreme lord, who is holding Sri pAnchajanyam, which highlights your aiSvaryam (opulence/control), in your divine hand! Even for you, if you have the desire in learning these meanings, the meanings are so potent that you have to learn it as my Sishya (disciple).

kuRippAgil – If it is agreeable to your divine heart.

kaRkalAm – It will not be possible if you remain prideful as naturally omniscient; you can learn if you study under me. For bhagavAn who remained humble and studied under vasishta, sAndhIpani, is there anything wrong to study under thirumangai AzhwAr?
