I went searching for bhagavAn and got to see him in the dhivyadhESam named thirukkaNNamangai; he is prideful like an ox; he is our lord who is mercifully residing in himavAn (thiruppiridhi); he is the one who grants worldly benefits and is the means like medicine for higher benefits; he is strong; he is the natural relative who can conduct his devotees outside the oval shaped universe (up to paramapadham); in his divine hand, he is having distinguished sudharSana AzhwAn and causing fear like the deity of death (for non-devotees); he is very beautiful like a mountain made of the best blue gems; he is mercifully residing in thiruninRavUr and is having a cool form like that of a collection of pearls; he is like wind which causes joy; he is like water which sustains.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
ERRinai – One who is prideful due to his joyful experience.
imayaththuL em Isanai – One who attracted me by showing his presence in thiruppiridhi in himavAn (himalayas).
immaiyai maRumaikku marundhinai – One who is the means for worldly benefits and higher benefits.
ARRalai – When asked “How can a single entity grant all benefits?” the answer is – “He is omnipotent who is not having any shortcoming”.
aNdaththu appuRaththu uyththidum aiyanai – When asked “What is he going to do with this omnipotence?” the answer is – He can conduct these AthmAs up to paramapadham.
When asked “Why should he do that for the AthmAs?” AzhwAr says
aiyanai – He is naturally related to all the AthmAs [as the father, sustainer, protector etc].
kaiyil Azhi onRu Endhiya kURRinai – When he hands over an AthmA to AthivAhikas (those who can cross-over from one lOka to another) and conducts the AthmA, if anyone questions that, he is having the weapon to cut them into two pieces. For the enemies, he is like the deity of death.
kuru mA maNik kunRinai – One who is having the form like that of a mountain made of precious blue gem. When he takes these AthmAs to paramapadham, this is how bhagavAn’s form looks like [shining like a blue gem].
ninRavUr ninRa niththilath thoththinai – One who is having a rejuvenating form like that of a collection of pearls and is mercifully standing in thiruninRavUr for those who cannot go up to parampadham.
kARRinai – One who is joyful, due to being touched by wind.
punalai – One who is the sustainer. Seeking him …
