Simple translation

When prahlAdha vowed, bhagavAn assumed the form of narasimha and tore down the strong body of hiraNyAsura and became joyful. He is having SrI pAnchajanyam in his divine left hand and SrI sudharSanam in his divine right hand. He is remaining firmly in thiruvazhundhUr where brAhmaNas, who are as good as brahmA who was born in the lotus flower from his divine navel, reside. He is having beautiful lotus like divine eyes. I, who am an exclusive servitor, got to see him.

Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

singamadhAy … – Assuming narasimha form; avuNan – hiraNyan. His strong body was tore down by bhagavAn who came even before prahlAdha completed his vow, and became joyful due to eliminating prahlAdha’s enemy. bhagavAn is the one who eliminates the enemy and also becomes joyful for that. If a small child drinks milk from mother’s bosoms, it is the mother who will be joyful for that.

sangam idaththAnai … – Though he had divine weapons in his hand, he did not know how to accomplish the task using that.

sengamalam … – sarvESvaran, who is puNdarIkAkshan (lotus-eyed), who is eternally residing in thiruvazhundhUr which is owned by brAhmaNas, who are as capable as brahmA who could do creation.

adiyEn kaNdu koNdEnE – I, who don’t have the same birth as those who are residents of that town, and who don’t have the nature (bhakthi) of SrI prahlAdhAzhwAn, got to see him and enjoy him.
