Simple Translation
Just like a lightning streak with unique moon region, which is white in colour and its penumbra, kaNNan has adorned with golden chain on his divine waist, a string of peepal leaves strung onto that golden chain and a small golden garment over the waist. Along with these, he has adorned himself with an ornament kARai [necklace], shining like a unique cloud in lightning. Will such kaNNan, who is self-illuminating and who steals the senses of those who see him, not take tender steps?
vyAkhyAnam (Commentary)
min … – like a streak of lightning, together with unique moon region which is without any fault and its associated penumbra region.
pinnal … – golden chain which is donned on the divine waist, the golden peepal leaves which have been strung to it and the golden small garment which has been donned over that; along with these
minnil …– having an ornament kARai which he has donned on his divine neck, which is similar to a dark cloud illuminated by lightning
thannil … – being full and beautiful, even without these decorations, as a result of which he keeps the senses of his beholders under his control; will such kaNNan not take tender steps?
thiruvAimozhip piLLai says, in his svApadhESam, that apart from the shining beauty which he has, which is similar to the analogies mentioned earlier, kaNNan has beauty from his quality of self-illumination, just as it has been mentioned in mUnRAm thiruvandhAdhi 38 “thAnE thanakkuvaman” (he alone is the analogy for himself).
