Simple translation

thirumangai AzhwAr who was previously the hero of women who are having eyes which are like vast blue lilies, praising the divine name of thirunaRaiyUr nambi and remembering it in his heart, mercifully spoke these ten pAsurams which are in the form of a thamizh garland on the supreme lord who is mercifully residing in thirunaRaiyUr which is surrounded by tanks and ponds, and is having divine kAvEri river which is having gemstones and pearls. For those who recite these pAsurams, remaining focussed on this and with desire, sins will not remain permanently for them, and they will be destroyed.

Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

vAvith thadam sUzh … – sarvESvaran, who is the supreme lord who has arrived and is standing in thirunaRaiyUr which is having ponds and tanks (which are bounded in size). Praising nambi’s divine name with the tongue and thinking about it in the heart.

kAvi … – Previously I thought this (being the hero of beautiful women) as my greatness; now you can see the greatness I have acquired (being true servitor of lord). Now, you can see that bhagavAn is the target of my mind, speech and body.

mEvich cholla vallAr … – The sin of those who can remain focussed on this decad and recite it, will not remain with them. The sin will leave them and become destroyed as well. There will be nothing remaining to distribute to others at the end of the life which is mentioned in SAtyAyana SAkhai “thasya puthrA: dhAyamupayanthi: dhvishantha: pApakruthyAm suhrudhas sAdhukruthyAm II” ((when the mumukshu (one interested in mOksham) goes to paramapadham, his sons will inherit his wealth; his enemies will inherit his sins and his friends, his virtues).

In the next article we will enjoy the next pAsuram.
