Simple translation

rudhra who considers himself to be ISvaran and who is wearing gangA river, crescent moon, snake and adamba flower on his matted hair and is having ashes smeared on his body, reached bhagavAn and prayed to him to eliminate his shortcoming; bhagavAn gave the matchless, fragrant sweat from his vast mountain like divine chest and became joyful. Such bhagavAn is eternally residing in thirunaRaiyUr which is surrounded by abundantly fragrant gardens. Such nambi is our refuge.

Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

ARum piRaiyum … – rudhra was prideful thinking “I can protect myself” and was having such qualities like having gangA river in a small portion of his matted hair, to show that he was an enjoyer, he was having the crescent moon, having snake, having adamba flower, also having ashes smeared on his body and was riding a bull. Such rudhra considers himself to be ISvara. He plucked the head of brahmA who is the guru for the whole world (including rudhra) and his father, and became pAthaki (great sinner) and went to sarvESvaran and informed his trouble.

mARu … – bhagavAn gave the sweat from his divine form which is known in chAndhOgya upanishath as “sarva gandha:” (the abode of all fragrances) and became joyful thinking “We got to remove the suffering of rudhra who was roaming around respectfully”.

nARum pozhil … – Beautiful thirunaRaiyUr is surrounded by fragrant garden which will mesmerise bhagavAn who is said to be “sarva gandha:”.
