avathArikai (Introduction)
AzhwAr brings the decad to an end by mentioning the benefits which will accrue to those who learn this decad in which he had said that even if emperumAn despises and rejects him, there is no other refuge for him and that he will hold on to the divine feet of emperumAn.

Simple Translation
sarvESvaran has mercifully taken residence in the divine abode of thiruviththuvakkOdu. kulaSEkhara AzhwAr, who has victorious spear and army, mercifully composed ten pAsurams on that emperumAn, saying that he will not take refuge under anyone else, even if emperumAn despises and rejects him. Those who learn these ten pAsurams will not have birth again, in this samsAram.
vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
viththuvakkOttammA nI vENdAyEyAdinum – there is no possibility for you, who have mercifully taken residence in viththuvakkOdu only to protect me, to reject me. Even if you reject me in order to correct me ….
maRRArum paRRilEn enRu avanaith thAL nayandha – desirous of his divine feet, saying “There is no other refuge; I have nowhere else to go”
koRRavEl thAnai kulasEkaran sonna – this padhigam (collection of ten pAsurams) has been composed by kulaSEkharap perumAL who has the spear and the army which will defeat his enemy along with his supporting army and bring him victory. The implied meaning here is that just as spear and soldiers are his assistants in defeating his enemies, his quality of ananyagathithvam (having nowhere else to go for taking refuge) is his assistant in attaining emperumAn.
naRRamizh paththum vallAr – even though the ocean is deep, pearls and other treasures which it holds are clearly visible at depths. In the same way, this padhigam has simple words in thamizh which hold eminent meanings. Those who learn such a padhigam well ….
naNNAr naragamE – even if they have carried out sins which are responsible for toiling repeatedly in samsAram, they will not be born again here. The term naragam refers to samsAram which creates deeper sorrow than hell.
This completes the 5th decad. We will take up the pravESam (Introduction) to 6th decad, in the next article.
