Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

kaRRA maRiththu … – For him tending the cows is like giving his presence to the assembly of nithyasUris; while tending the cows, as the beautiful pond there was poisoned by kALiyan, krishNa thought “We should drive him out of there” and danced on him to make him tremble.

poRRAmariyAL kELvan – He placed himself in danger without seeing his nature. This brave act will not match his tenderness for being Sriya:pathi (consort of SrI mahAlakshmi).

kaRRAr … – As said in SrI rAmAyaNam yudhdha kANdam 128.103 “rAmO rAmO rAma:” (while SrI rAma ruled the kingdom, the people kept reciting rAma, rAma, rAma), there are many who can join two syllables and praise bhagavAn. But AzhwAr is praised by those who understand the greatness of bhAgavathas.

kAr Ar … – Your magnanimity resembles a full loaded, black cloud which has risen.

sol thAn Iraindhu ivai pAda – There is nothing sweeter than this padhigam (decad).

sOra nillA thuyar thAnE – The sins which will make the AthmA go down, will not remain.
