Oh one who is mercifully residing in thiruveLLaRai where the beetle which was residing on the flower along with the female beetle, reached up to the mansions which have tall peaks which reach up to the moon, to hide in the hair of the ladies, and remained together! Oh the cause of all, who, at that time accepted a unique, very strong kUrmAvathAram to give nectar to dhEvathAs such as indhra et al who are having well grown crowns which remain for a long time! You should kindly grant me kainkaryam towards you.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
pongu nIL mudi … – Well expanded dhEvathAs having eternal crowns, desired to worship the lotus feet of emperumAn; to eliminate the danger caused by asuras and protect them; he accepted a tortoise form which can sustain the mandhara mountain, protected them and became the reason for their existence!
nin adimaiyai aruL enakku – For me, your highness should grant service unto your divine feet and mercifully grant my existence.
thangu … – With the female beetle which resided with it in the flower.
