Simple translation
Being a child, he consumed the milk from pUthanA’s bosom which was filled with poison; having the mouth which once consumed the vast earth and let it out; being greater than all, he mercifully rested on a tender banyan leaf; being the one who is far away for the dhEvathAs who are having crowns filled with precious gems, and is in close proximity for me, the servitor; he is the one who himself arrives in my mind and destroys the cruel sorrows in my mind; he lifted up the gOvardhana hill and protected the cows as krishNa, a cowherd boy, during krishNAvathAram; such emperumAn is mercifully resting in the dhivyadhESam, SrIrangam.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
pEyinAr … – One who suckled on pUthanA’s bosom filled with poison, being an ignorant child, without knowing the difference between mother’s bosom and other person’s bosom.
oru kAl – Being ignorant about the result, is common at all times for bhagavAn. He is having such mouth with which, once, he placed the vast earth in his stomach, and since he could not digest it, he spat it out; he is greater than all and the controller of all; he assumed a small form and placed the great worlds in his stomach and mercifully rested on a fresh banyan leaf; he is far away from brahmA et al and is a servitor for persons like me; even as I did not even have the desire for him, he himself came to me and destroyed my sorrows in the mind, as krishNa.
anRu kunRam onRu eduththAn – Held the gOvardhana hill, and protected the cows and cowherd people, who cannot even realise the favours done by him.
