Simple Translation
Did you see the lord, who is the divine consort of SrI mahALakshmi, who is like a dear bluish gemstone for me, who is like a boar which has escaped from the trap, hence being with arrogance and who does not bestow anything which he has, on anyone? We saw perumAn, wearing the divine yellow coloured dress such that it was flowing down, like a little cloud which has grown huge and is dark, mercifully coming, filling up the entire street, in SrI brindhAvanam.
vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
mAdhavan en maNiyinai – mAdhavan – lord of SrI mahAlakshmi. Since he has SrIdhEvi, who is the best among women, as his own, it is hinted that he is a connoisseur. Since she says en maNiyinai, she has him under her control, having knotted that bluish gemstone in her dress.
valaiyil pizhaiththa panRI pOl – like a boar which had got trapped in a net and had escaped from it. One can trap a boar, which has not got trapped until then. However, it is not possible to trap it again, if it escapes from the trap once. In the same way, just as it has been mentioned in thiruchchandha viruththam 83 “ettinOdu iraNdenum kayiRu” (with a rope known as devotion), though emperumAn too could be trapped in the net of devotion, in order to nurture their bhakthi (devotion) into paramabhakthi (supreme devotion, by which the follower could sustain only by being united with emperumAn and would perish otherwise) he would escape from that net and would not be within reach subsequently. At that time, it would be impossible to reach him by any means.
Edhum onRu koLaththArA Isan – not bestowing anything which he has, to others, but considering everything which others have as his own.
pIdhaga Adai udai thAzha – the divine yellow coloured dress flowing down and swaying from side to side
perum kAr mEgak kanRu pOl – like a little cloud, which is huge, dark and fully filled up with water. His yellow-coloured divine dress would be like lightning and his divine form would be like a monsoon cloud. The term kanRu refers to his age.
vIdhi Ara varuvANai – just as that cloud comes filling up the entire sky, kaNNan would come, filling up the entire street. Has it not been said in krishNa karNAmrutham too? “paSchAdh gavAm gOpasuthai: parIthO vENusvanAnandhitha viSvachEthA: l sampUrya vIdhi savilAsamAyAth gOpAlabAla: kuladhaivatham na: ll” (Let the deity of our clan, gOpAla, come beautifully behind the cows, surrounded by the herd-boys, making everyone’s heart to be happy through music from his flute, filling up the entire street)
virundhAvanaththE kaNdOmE – instead of in thiruvAyppAdi where all the people in the place could see him, we got to see him in SrI brindhAvanam where he could play with us alone.
