Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

piLLai uruvAyth thayir uNdu … – Being sarvESvaran, if he wanted to mercifully eat butter, people would not accept that; hence he took the form of child krishNa and mercifully ate curd. In this manner he manifested his simplicity of not sustaining without the food item which is touched by his devotees, he made me exist fully for him, and when he got an opportunity where I cannot push him out, he entered my heart. Such emperumAn’s abode.

kaLLam … – The cranes in that dhivydhESam will remain indifferent even when the fish keep banging at their feet and when the right prey is seen, they will charge at the prey and grab it. Their nature is similar to that of krishNa who would pretend to be sleeping as said in siRiya thirumadal “OrAdhavan pOl uRangi” (Sleeping as if he does not know what is happening around) when yaSOdhAp pirAtti is securing curd and butter, and as she steps away, he will steal them. Just as he caused agitation in the town, these would too.
