First pAsuram. (uyarvE paran padi…) Here, mAmunigaL is explaining that the meaning of this AzhwAr‘s divine words, i.e. this first decad of thiruvAimozhi, which reveals emperumAn‘s supremacy and which instructs “fall at the divine feet of the supreme lord and be uplifted”, will lead to mOksham (liberation) for chEthanas.

uyarvE paran padiyai uLLadhellAm thAn kaNdu
uyar vEdha nEr koNduraiththu – mayarvEdhum
vArAmal mAnidarai vAzhvikkum mARan sol
vErAgavE viLaiyum vIdu

Visualising the complete nature of the supreme lord who is having greatness, nammAzhwAr mercifully spoke in the style of Sruthi which is the top most pramANam; nammAzhwAr’s divine words will ensure that humans will not even acquire a tinge of ignorance to have them uplifted and will lead them to mOksham.

Second pAsuram. In this pAsuram, mAmunigaL is enjoying AzhwAr‘s words of instructions to samsAris, requesting them to be reformed and remain as a companion like his own divine heart, and mercifully speaking about it.

vIdu seydhu maRRevaiyum mikka pugazh nAraNan thAL
nAdu nalaththAl adaiya nanguraikkum – nIdu pugazh
vaN kurugUr mARan indha mAnilaththOr thAm vAzhap
paNbudanE pAdi aruL paththu

These ten pAsurams which were mercifully sung with compassion by the greatly glorious nammAzhwAr, the leader of rich thirukkurugUr, to uplift the residents of this vast earth, will instruct well the residents of the world to give up everything else and to desirously reach the divine feet of SrIman nArAyaNa who is having great glory.

Third pAsuram. In this pAsuram, mAmunigaL is following the divine words [of AzhwAr] which instructed bhagavAn‘s saulabhyam (easy approachability) and mercifully explaining the same.

paththudaiyOrkkenRum paran eLiyanAm piRappAl
muththi tharum mAnilaththIr mUNdavanpAl – paththi seyyum
enRuraiththa mARan thanin sollAl pOm nedugach
chenRa piRappAm anjiRai

By the practice of AzhwAr’s sweet thiruvAimozhi as he mercifully said “sarvESvaran is easily approachable for his devotees always; he will mercifully grant mOksham through his incarnations; oh residents of vast earth! engage in devotion with matured love towards him”, this bondage of birth which has followed us for long, will leave.

Fourth pAsuram. In this pAsuram, mAmunigaL is following AzhwAr‘s pAsurams of requesting birds to go as messengers to emperumAn to inform him about his aparAdha sahathvam (tolerating the offenses) and mercifully explaining it.

anjiRaiya putkaL thamai AzhiyAnukku nIr
en seyalaich chollum ena irandhu – vinja
nalangiyadhum mARaningE nAyaganaith thEdi
malangiyadhum paththi vaLam

AzhwAr looked at the birds with beautiful wings, and prayed “you go and inform my state to sarvESvaran who is having chakrAyudham”, greatly losing wellness, searched in this world for emperumAn who is the lord and became bewildered; this is the greatness of his bhakthi.

Fifth pAsuram. In this pAsuram, mAmunigaL is following AzhwAr‘s pAsurams which speak about emperumAn‘s sauSeelyam (simplicity) which facilitates everyone to take shelter of him and is mercifully explaining it.

vaLamikka mAl perumai man uyirin thaNmai
uLAmuRRangUduruva Orndhu – thaLarvuRRu
neenga ninai mARanai mAl needilagu seelaththAl
pAngudanE sErththAn parindhu

AzhwAr realised the abundantly wealthy emperumAn‘s greatness and AthmA‘s lowliness, in his heart and deeply analysed it in that state, became weak and thought to leave emperumAn; sarvESvaran, with his greatly shining Seela guNam, happily embraced AzhwAr with in a friendly manner.

Sixth pAsuram. In this pAsuram, mAmunigaL is following AzhwAr’s pAsurams saying emperumAn is not difficult to approach and worship and is mercifully explaining it.

parivadhil Isan padiyaip paNbudanE pEsi
ariyan alan ArAdhanaikkenRu – urimaiyudan
Odhi aruL mARan ozhiviththAn ivvulagil
pEdhaiyargaL thangaL piRappu

AzhwAr who mercifully spoke with close friendship, explained the nature of sarvESvaran who is opposite of all defects, saying “sarvESvaran, being complete by nature, is satisfied with whatever is offered to him, and is not difficult to perform thiruvArAdhanam” and mercifully eliminated the birth [old-age, disease and death] for the ignorant people in this world.

Seventh pAsuram. In this pAsuram, mAmunigaL is following AzhwAr’s pAsurams of glorifying the enjoyability of surrendering unto emperumAn and is mercifully explaining it.

piRavi aRRu nIL visumbil pEr inbam uykkum
thiRam aLikkum seelath thirumAl – aRaviniyan
paRRumavarkkenRu pagarmARan pAdhamE
uRRa thuNai enRu uLamE Odu

Oh heart! Considering that the divine feet of AzhwAr who mercifully spoke “Sriya:pathi who relieves those who surrender unto him from having to take birth and has the quality to grant the way to enjoy supreme bliss in paramapadham, is most enjoyable for them”, as the only apt companion, quickly go and surrender [unto him].

Eighth pAsuram. In this pAsuram, mAmunigaL is following AzhwAr’s divine pAsurams which highlight emperumAn‘s honesty where he treats honest and dishonest people equally and is mercifully explaining it.

Odu manam seygai urai onRi nillAdhArudanE
kUdi nedumAl adimai koLLunilai – nAdaRiya
Orndhavan than semmai urai seydha mARan ena
Eyndhu niRkum vAzhvAm ivai

As one thinks about AzhwAr who analysed sarvESvaran’s quality of accepting those dishonest persons who cannot have their wavering heart, body and speech in harmony and mercifully spoke about emperumAn‘s honesty to make the people to be well aware, wealth which fits the self naturally will remain well, forever.

Ninth pAsuram. In this pAsuram, mAmunigaL is following AzhwAr’s pAsurams of highlighting emperumAn‘s quality of granting joy in a step by step manner and is mercifully explaining it.

ivai aRindhOr tham aLavil Isan uvandhARRa
avayangaL thORum aNaiyum suvai adhanaip
peRRArvaththAl mARan pEsina sol pEsa, mAl
poRRAL nam senni porum

As we speak the divine words which were mercifully, blissfully spoken by AzhwAr after acquiring the taste of sarvESvaran joyfully uniting, step by step with all limbs of those who have understood his qualities such as Arjava (honesty) which were revealed in previous decad, sarvESvaran’s divine feet will unite with our head.

Tenth pAsuram. In this pAsuram, mAmunigaL is following AzhwAr’s pAsurams of feeling satisfied after seeing no specific reason and thinking “emperumAn‘s uniting with all limbs is nirhEthuka (causeless)” and is mercifully explaining it.

porum Azhi sangudaiyOn pUdhalaththE vandhu
tharumAROrEdhuvaRaththannai – thiramAgap
pArththurai sey mARan padham paNiga en senni
vAzhththiduga ennudaiya vAy

AzhwAr firmly visualised and mercifully spoke the way emperumAn who is having SrI SudharSana chakra and SrI pAnchajanya in his hand, incarnates on this earth without any reason and gives himself; let my head bow down at such AzhwAr’s divine feet; let my mouth perform mangaLASAsanam for him.
