Simple Translation
On hearing about the birth of krishNa in nandhagOpar’s divine house, the herd-people will run in bewilderment. They will slip in the muddy place [muddied as a result of spraying oil and turmeric, as seen in the first pAsuram] and will let out a cry in sheer happiness. They will search out as to where the infant has been born and go looking for him. Even as different musical instruments are played out, they will sing and dance in synchronisation with that music. Entire SrI gOkulam was like this.
vyAkhyAnam
OduvAr – upon hearing about the news of krishNa having been born, the people of SrI gOkulam will run in happy bewilderment
vizhuvAr – even as they run, they will slip in the muddied place and fall down.
ugandhu AlippAr – they will be very blissful and as an outlet for that happiness, will let out a loud cry.
nAduvAr – they will search out “Where is the infant? Where is the infant?”
nam pirAn enguRRAn – even as they see the little kaNNan, realising that he is the son of their leader, nandhagOpar, bringing out happiness in their voice, they will ask “Where is our swAmy (leader, lord)?”
pAduvArgaLum – those who sing as an outlet for that happiness
palpaRai kotta ninRu AduvArgaLum – even as many people start playing on various instruments, people will dance, synchronising their movements with that music. Alternatively, some people will play instruments, as they like, without any proper musical tunes and some people will dance, as they like, without any synchronisation with that music. All the activities listed above are to be considered as taking place simultaneously. Thus, some people will run, some people will slip and fall down, some people will search out etc
AyiRRu AyppAdiyE – Among the five lakh homes in thiruvAyppAdi, there was none who was not affected in any way due to the birth of krishNa. All of them were engaged in one or more of the above-mentioned activities.
We shall next consider the 3rd pAsuram of this thirumozhi.
