Simple Translation

He has been there for me, all the time. He learnt to crawl by moving between two marudha [yamalArjuna] trees, making them to snap and fall down. He destroyed the demon kamsan, through deceit. He is the king of the great town of mathurA, which is radiant. Oh kUdal! If he were to come here, you indicate your agreement.

vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

aRRavan – he has been always there for me. Did he not incarnate only for her sake? Has he [kaNNan] himself not mercifully said in bhagavath gIthA 4-8 “parithrANAya sAdhUnAm viNASAya cha dhukruthAm l dharma samsthApanArthAya sambhavAmi yugE yugE ll” (I keep incarnating in every yugam (epoch) in order to protect the good entities, to destroy the wicked and to establish the path of righteousness)?

marudham muRiya nadai kaRRavan – even at a young age, when he did not know about himself, he had crawled between two marudha trees which two monsters had pervaded, killing them. Hence, there is no need to fear about enemies. It has been said in SrI vishNu purANam 5-6-16 “vyagrAyAmatha thasyAm sa karshamANa ulUkhalam l yamalArjunayOr madhyE jagAma kamalEkshaNa: ll karshathA vrukshayOr madhyE thiryaggathamulUkhalam l bhagnAvuththungaSAkhAgrau thEna thau yamalArjunau ll” (When that yaSOdhAp was engaged with some other work, kaNNan, who has lotus-like eyes, dragged the mortar [to which he had been tied] between the two yamalArjuna trees. When he went between the trees, the mortar rolled between them. The two trees, which had tall branches, were snapped by that mortar).

kanjanai vanjanaiyil seRRavan – since kamsan had a wicked mind, kaNNan destroyed him with deceit. If he had been like chakravarthith thirumagan (SrI rAma, the divine of emperor dhaSaratha) trying to kill him through the righteous means, that would not have fructified in kamsan’s case; hence, he killed him in a deceitful manner. He made the deceit, which kamsan tried on him, to return to kamsan and destroy him.

thigazhum madhuraip padhik koRRavan – king of radiant mathurA which is surrounded with mansions and palaces. Wasn’t ugrasEnan [grandfather of kaNNan], the king of mathurA? Due to the curse on the clan of yAdhavas, kaNNan had crowned ugrasEnan as the king of mathurA. However, in ANdAL’s opinion, since ugrasEnan was crowned by kaNNan and the kingdom was obtained with the help of kaNNan, she considers kaNNan as the king of mathurA.

varil kUdidu kUdalE – Oh kUdal! You should agree such that he comes. There is normally no need to implore kings. Even if there is a necessity, you should implore him to come here.

Next, we will consider the 7th pAsuram of this decad.
