Oh <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> who is at all times worshiped by the fortunate ones! When seeing that<br \/>\n<em>therivaridhu \u2013<\/em> it is not being possible to know<br \/>\n<em>aruLin vaNNam<\/em> \u2013 the way\/nature of kindness<br \/>\n<em>nin \u2013<\/em> of your highness {such that you had kept me away all this time},;<br \/>\n<em>uraiyAy<\/em> \u2013 your highness itself should tell us about<br \/>\n<em>indha nuN poruL \u2013 <\/em>these subtle ways.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vyAk<em>yAnam<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ennai<\/em> <\/strong>\u2013 Starting from time eternal, for some time there was lack of knowledge<em> (agyAnam)<\/em> that the body is the <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a>;<\/p>\n<p>after that even though knew that there is something separate from the body which is <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a>, but having misunderstanding about its actual nature (so, thinking that <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> is independent) (<em>anyathA gyAnam) <\/em>because of being as said in \u2018<em>ISvarOham aham bhOgeesidhdhOham bhalavAn sukee\u2019, <\/em><\/p>\n<p>then fell on desires for worldly things, as said in \u2018<em>kAmaisdhair hrutha gyAnA: prapadhyanthE anya dhEvathA:\u2019 <\/em>\u00a0and thus losing knowledge on wrong things (<em>vipareetha gyAnam), <\/em>and so wandered through these and became a nobody; you getting such adiyEn,<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>inRu<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 now,<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Akki<\/em> <\/strong>\u2013 released from all such aforementioned, and first, made me involve in subservience to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> as said in \u2018<em>nAnum unakkup pazhavadiyEn<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/11\/thiruppallandu-11-al-vazhakku\/\">thiruppallANdu &#8211; 11<\/a>]\u2019 (I too am being an eternal servitor),<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>adimai nilaippiththanai<\/em> <\/strong>\u2013 then, like how <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> helped when asked \u2018<em>adiyArkku ennai Atpadhuththa vimalan<\/em> [amalanAdhipirAn &#8211; 1]<em>\u2019 <\/em>(He being without blemish, who is able to make me subservient to His devotees), and \u2018<em>un adiyArkku AtpadhuththAy<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/01\/thiruppalliyezhuchchi-10-kadimalar\/\">thiruppaLLiyezhuchchi &#8211; 10<\/a>]<em>\u2019 <\/em>(Please engage me in the service of your devotees who are the servants of your holiness),<\/p>\n<p>as said in \u2018<em>gururEva param brahma\u2019<\/em> and \u2018<em>AchAryassa harissAkshAth chara rUpi nasamsaya:\u2019 <\/em>, and your highness is the one who is <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">Isvaran<\/a> for me, have let me to be in the upper limit of subservience that is towards His devotees.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>munbu<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 During earlier times,<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>avamE pOkki<\/em> <\/strong>\u2013 (you) left me out to be wasteful<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>puRaththittadhu <\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0&#8211; <\/em>\u00a0and kept me interested in inappropriate matters;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>en poruLA<\/strong> &#8211; <\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em>what is the use\/reason for that?<\/p>\n<p>(<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> asking) What is the reason for you saying like this?<\/p>\n<p>amudhanAr &#8211; Like said in \u2018<em>magnAn udhdharathE lOkAn\u2019<\/em> you had incarnated for uplifting everyone, but you too, like <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">sarvESvaran<\/a>, had kept me all these days for your <em>leelai<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>emperumAnAr &#8211; Till now you did not have the qualifications, that is why I kept you like this.<\/p>\n<p>amudhanAr &#8211; As said in \u2018<em>adhikAram uNdEl arangarum irangArO, adhikAram illAdhArkku anRO ethirAsA nee iranga vENduvadhu<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/07\/arththi-prabandham-14\/\">Arththi prabandham &#8211; 14<\/a>]\u2019 (~ If one is having qualification then arangan <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> would have shown mercy; for those (like me) who do not have any qualification, you are the one who has to show mercy (and liberate us) (mOksham)).<\/p>\n<p>But then what eligibility did you see for accepting me now, why did you keep me away wastefully?<\/p>\n<p>and so <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> is catching <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>, in the same way <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">AzhvAr<\/a> caught <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> in \u2018<em>inRu ennaip poruL Akki<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> &#8211; 10.8.9]<em>\u2019<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> now considered me as some thing, when all these time eternal I was left out);<\/p>\n<p>If you are saying that due to your kindness you made me like this now, then please let us know the nature of that kindness {which had let me go waste all this time} \u2013 says <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>puNNiyar tham<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 those having the fortune of grace of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> without any means from our side; the grace that would help get <em>mayarvaRa mathi nalam<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/03\/thiruvaimozhi-1-1-1-uyarvara-uyarnalam\/\">thiruvAimozhi &#8211; 1.1.1<\/a>]\u2019 (unblemished knowledge);<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>vAkkil piriyA<\/em> <\/strong>\u2013 being there in their divine speech without any break;<\/p>\n<p>That is, they are the ones like <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhvAr<\/a> who can be said as \u2018<em>pUrvE mUrdhnA yasvAnvayAm upagadhA dhEsikA:\u2019, <\/em>had done mangaLASasnam to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>, like in \u2018<em>poliga poliga poliga<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> &#8211; since he (<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\">maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/a>) is being like <em>\u2018gurOr nAma sadhA japEth | gurOr vArththAScha kathayEth\u2019, \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>he prays to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> as:<\/p>\n<p>\u2018<em>nithyam yatheendhra thava dhivya vapusmruthaumE saktham manO bhavathu vAk guNa keerththanEsau | kruthyancha dhAsya karaNEthu karadhvayasya vruthyantharE<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/10\/yathiraja-vimsathi-tamil\/\">yathirAja vimSathi<\/a>]\u2019,<\/p>\n<p>As said in \u2018<em>vAchA yatheendhra manasA vapushAchayushmath pAdhAravindhayugaLam bhajathAm gurUNAm | kUrAdhinAtha kurugEsa mukhAdhya pumsAm\u2019<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/10\/yathiraja-vimsathi-tamil\/\">yathirAja vimSathi<\/a>], always being worshiped in the minds of the fortunate ones like <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/10\/05\/kurathazhwan\/\">kUraththAzhvAn<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/04\/14\/thirukkurugaippiran-pillan-english\/\">piLLAn<\/a> and others;<\/p>\n<p><strong>irAmAnusa!<\/strong> \u2013 Oh (such) <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>nin aruLin vaNNam<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 Unlike His kindness which is common for both ties and liberation, your kindness is for only liberation; <em>vaNNam \u2013 <\/em>its ways \u2013 nature;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>nOkkil<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 If it (nature of your kindness) is analyzed well; if tried to see for knowing it, it would be hard;\u00a0 If I tried to figure out why the one that did not work out all this time has worked out now, it would be hard to know that (by myself);<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Al<\/em><\/strong> -&gt; wondering.<\/p>\n<p>You see, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> is wondering as \u2013 your kindness that is for giving one thing (liberation) (<em>EkAkAram)<\/em>, had become one of giving both (ties and liberation) only in my case?<\/p>\n<p>Or, <strong>Al<\/strong> -&gt; The kindness which became fruitful now without any effort from my part, had not worked out earlier, and so like how <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">AzhvAr<\/a> felt terrible in \u2018<em>pOra vaiththAy puRamE<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> &#8211; 5.1.5]\u2019 (You had kept me out into matters other than You), and in \u2018<em>aRpa sArangaL avai suvaiththu aganRu ozhindhEn<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/07\/thiruvaimozhi-3-2-6-kirpan-killen\/\">thiruvAimozhi &#8211; 3.2.6<\/a>]\u2019 (I had kept away from you and enjoying lowly matters), <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> is loathe to think that he had missed this great experience all these days, and had gone behind worldly things all these days;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>uraiyAy indha nuN poruLE<\/em> <\/strong>\u2013 Since your highness sees the matters of both the worlds, you must be knowing the meaning\/reason of this subtle matter (of keeping me away all these days and showing kindness only now), so please tell us about it, says <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From AzhwAr thirunagari SrI U.Ve. <em>vidhwAn thirumalai nallAn chakravarththi rAmakrishNa iyengAr\u2019s \u2018amudha virundhu\u2019:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Akki<\/em> <\/strong>\u2013 Says \u2018made me\u2019, instead of \u2018<em>thiruththi\u00b4<\/em> (corrected me), after seeing the vast difference between how he was earlier compared to now after <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> getting him. So this is looking like a new thing for him.<\/p>\n<p>emperumAnAr &#8211; The noble ones made you like this now.<br \/>\namudhanAr &#8211; Why did they not do this till now?<br \/>\nemperumAnAr &#8211; You were not agreeable till now.<br \/>\namudhanAr &#8211; How did the agreeableness come now?<br \/>\nemperumAnAr &#8211; Because you got the amicability (<em>adhvEsham), <\/em>etc., now.<br \/>\namudhanAr &#8211; Why should that happen only now?<br \/>\nemperumAnAr &#8211; That is due to ISvara katAksham, that is <em>prathama sukrutham <\/em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>\u2019s grace due to some good deed of yours)<br \/>\namudhanAr &#8211; That <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">ISvaran<\/a> is you only (for me), isn\u2019t it? Why should you have not saved me earlier? Did some eligibility got gained now for you to protect me?\u00a0 So it is not clear at all for the reason of not protecting earlier and protecting now. This matter is being very subtle\/hard to know.
