{"id":9896,"date":"2016-07-29T05:59:51","date_gmt":"2016-07-29T05:59:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/?p=9896"},"modified":"2016-07-29T05:59:51","modified_gmt":"2016-07-29T05:59:51","slug":"purva-dhinacharya-29","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/07\/purva-dhinacharya-29\/","title":{"rendered":"pUrva dhinacharyA \u2013 29"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><small>SrI:\u00a0 SrImathE SatakOpAya nama:\u00a0 SrImathE rAmAnujAya nama:\u00a0 SrImath varavaramunayE nama:<\/small><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/05\/sri-varavaramuni-dhinacharya\/\">Full Series<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/07\/purva-dhinacharya-28\">&lt;&lt; Previous<\/a><\/p>\n<p><i>Aradhya Srinidhim Paschath Anuyagam vidhaya cha \/<\/i><br \/>\n<i>Prasada Patram mam krutva pasyantham bhavayami tham \/\/<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b><i>(<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">w to w)<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paschath<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0&#8211; After completing the noon rituals, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Srinidhim<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0&#8211; his deity <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aranganagarappan<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, \u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aradhya &#8211; <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0perform <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">puja<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with great reverence, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anuyagam \u00a0vidhaya<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">consuming the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">prasadam<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which was offered to the Lord, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mam<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0&#8211; I, who wasn\u2019t inclined to even look at the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">prasadam<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, \u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prasada Patram krutva<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0&#8211; having consumed the leftovers of Mamunigal, \u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pasyantham \u00a0&#8211; <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who is gracefully looking at me, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tham<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0&#8211; that Mamunigal, \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bhavayami \u00a0&#8211; <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I will always meditate upon. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Commentary)<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The word <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aradhya<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> means that having done <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">puja<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> fully to one\u2019s satisfaction. \u00a0Sandilya Smriti says, just like how one would try to please a Prince, an agitated elephant and affable guests, one should perform <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">puja<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to the Lord with due fear and love. Just like how a virtuous woman would please her husband, a mother pleases her infant, a disciple pleases his Acharya and a person who had assimilated a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mantra<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, in that away the Lord is to be pleased. Accordingly, Mamunigal did <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">puja<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to his deity <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aranganagarappan. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The word <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anuyagam<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0means the performance of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">puja<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to Lord following that taking the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">prasadam <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0that was offered to the Lord. Bharadwaja says that one has to take the food after doing <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">parishechanam <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and taking food in five forms on behalf of Lord who is <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pranan, apanan, vyanan, udhanan, and samanan. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Also Sandilya says that one has to worship the Lord who is residing in one\u2019s heart, and after taking the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">theertham<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of \u00a0Lord by saying \u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pranayasvaha<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> etc. and perform <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">homam<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in our mouth. \u00a0Then by thinking the Lord without rushing, one has to take the food without complaining the low-saltiness, excess of tamarind, etc. Further one has to relish the sayings of Sandilya: about cleanliness, limited quantity, taste, acceptance to heart, stickiness of ghee, pleasant to look and little warm. In the words, \u2018<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anuyagam vidhaya cha\u2019 \u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the alphabet \u2018<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">cha<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019 means that Mamunigal arranges food for <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sri Vaishnavites<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> before he takes food. It is to be noted that Erumbiappa also narrates in Varavara Muni Kavya that Manavala Mamunigal takes food only after giving food to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sri Vaishnavites<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which has sweetness, fragrance, is clean, soft and arranged with pure heart by offering to Lord. By offering food with spirit to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sri Vaishnavites<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Mamunigal satisfied himself and then he takes food. It is to be reminded that on earlier occasion, \u00a0Mamunigal asked Erumbiappa to take food in the Mutt which he rejected by intending the common commandment that one should not take the food offered by a saint or take food in the vessel of a saint. \u00a0This he rejected due to his wickedness and now he got himself corrected. The word, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pasyantham bhavayami <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">means that he worships Mamunigal who is looking at him. At the same time it means that Mamunigal is fascinated to see what caused Erumbiappa to consume food which he once rejected? \u00a0Erumbiappa says that he worships him always for the magnanimous favour extended to him by correcting his mistakes.
