SrivaishNavas made me join and I joined, is all it is.<br \/>\nCalling rAmAyaNam as ocean of devotion, because it stimulates infinite devotion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>padi koNda keerththi<\/em><\/strong><strong> \u2013 <\/strong>As said in &#8220;<em>vAlmeeki: giri sambhUtha rAmAsAgara gAmini | punAthi bhuvanam puNyA rAmAyaNa mahAnadhi&#8221; \u00a0 <\/em>(from the mountain that is vAlmeeki, river joins the ocean that is rAmAn; one who immerses in the great river rAmAyaNam, would get all good karmas),<\/p>\n<p>and, \u2018<em>SlOka sAra samAkeerNam sarga kallOla sankulam kANdagrAha mahAmeenam vandhE rAmAyaNArNavam\u2019<\/em> (Innumerable water droplets that are the SlOkas, more than 500 waves that are sections, 6 big crocodiles that are the 6 cantos, I bow to that ocean that is SrI rAmAyaNam), and<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>SruNvaN rAma kathA nAdham <\/em><em>ko na yathi parAm gathim&#8221;<\/em>, &#8220;<em>ya pibhan rama charithAmrutha sAgaram&#8221;<\/em> (here too it describes rAmAyaNam as an ocean),<\/p>\n<p>and &#8220;<em>idham pavithram pApagnam puNyam vEdhaiScha samhitham&#8221;<\/em> (~ good karmas for those who read, listen to, or ask to read, etc.);<\/p>\n<p>and, <em>&#8220;Satha kOti pravisthram&#8221;<\/em> (~rAmAyaNam of several crore Slokas in brahma lOkam), and \u2018<em>vEdha: prAchEdhasAdhAseeth sAkshAth rAmAyaNAthmanA\u2019<\/em> (~ vEdham came and born as SrI rAmAyaNam)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; in such a way SrI rAmAyaNam is having the greatness of being spread in the whole world;<\/p>\n<p><em>padi koNda <\/em>is to say earth as an example, but is spread in all worlds like brahmA\u2019s <em>sathya lOkam<\/em>, etc.<\/p>\n<p>From <em>sathya lOkam brahma <\/em>and <em>nAradha<\/em> had come down to advise and instruct vAlmeeki about authoring <em>rAmAyaNam<\/em>, its greatness is spread and well known in all the worlds above as well.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>rAmAyaNam ennum paththi veLLam<\/em> \u2013 <\/strong><em>veLLam<\/em> -&gt; ocean. Even though it is said as &#8220;<em>kAvyam rAmAyaNam kruthsnam seethAyaS chaitham mahath&#8221; <\/em>(named it as rAmAyaNam, or seethA\u2019s story, or as pulasthiyar\u2019s son\u2019s (rAvaNan\u2019s) killing), since it is said as &#8220;<em>yasyaithE thasya thadhdhanam&#8221;<\/em> (~ what belongs to her belongs to him due to her subservience), so calling seethA\u2019s story as rAmAyaNam is acceptable. Such SrI rAmAyanam that is the flooding devotion;<\/p>\n<p>While one should say that its meanings are the flood of <em>bhakthi<\/em> (devotion), why say SrI rAmAyaNam itself as <em>bhakthi<\/em>? Like said in &#8220;<em>thath guNa sArasyAththu thathvyapadhESa:&#8221;<\/em> (~ if that is said for it, it is meant for this as well), it is because SrI rAmAyaNam stimulates such devotion. In the way of &#8220;<em>Ekaikam aksharam prOktham mahApAthaga nASanam&#8221;<\/em> (even one letter of it is recited, the bad karmas would be destroyed), even without going to the level of its meanings, even the beauty of the sound of its words itself would be enjoyable.<\/p>\n<p>If asked where is that bhakthi (SrI rAmAyaNam) residing, and how do we go to it,<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>kudi koNda kOyil irAmAnusan \u2013<\/em><\/strong> It is present as resident in the heart of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> himself as a temple;<\/p>\n<p>As said in &#8220;<em>iruppidam vaikuntham vEkatam mAlirunchOlai ennum poruppidam mAyanukku enbar nallOr<\/em> [rAmAnusa nURRanthAdhi &#8211; 106]&#8221; (noble ones say that <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> stays in SrIvaikuNtam, thiruvEnkatam, thiru mAlirunchOlai, etc.), for what is discussed here who is the <em>parama purusha <\/em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>), those are the places of His stay; likewise, what is discussed above\u00a0 that is the flow of bhakthi which is SrI rAmAyaNam, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> is the temple, you see!<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>irAmAnusan<\/em><\/strong><strong> \u2013<\/strong> (connection with SrI rAmAyaNam) \u2013 in that rAmAvathAram, in the matter of the divine couple he is the one who performed all sorts of services (like eating everything by oneself (without sharing with others) and growing a big belly, he performed all sorts of kainaryams himself for them), and so knew the taste of bhakthi, isnt\u2019 it?<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>guNam kURum anbar<\/em><\/strong><strong> \u2013<\/strong> those loving ones who spread about his auspicious qualities to everyone in the world;<\/p>\n<p>(who are those loving ones?)<\/p>\n<p>As said in<strong> &#8220;<\/strong><em>upagathA dhEsikA mukthimApu: sOyam rAmANuja munir api sveeya mukthim karasthAm yath sambhandhAdh amanutha katham varnNyathE kUraNAtha:&#8221;<\/em> (~AchAryas before <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> established that they get mOksham due to their relationship with <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>&#8216;s thirumudi (head) sambandham. Such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> declared that he gets mOksham due to his sambandham with <a href=\"http:\/\/koorathazhwan1000.webs.com\/\">AzhvAn<\/a>. How can we spell out the glories of such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/10\/05\/kurathazhwan\/\">kUraththAzhvAn<\/a>?) (focus here is on the first part of it regarding thirumudi sambandham),<\/p>\n<p>so as said in &#8220;<em>naliyum narakamum naindha namanukku ingu yAdhonRum illai, kaliyum kedum kaNdu<\/em> <em>koNmin<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> &#8211; 5.2.1]&#8221; (~ there is nothing to do here for yama, watch out &#8211; kali is going to be destroyed (due to incarnation of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>)<em>\u2013 <\/em>such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhvAr<\/a> who praised <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>, and,<\/p>\n<p>he who performed <em>thiruvArAdhanam<\/em> to the divine deity given by <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhvAr<\/a>, that is <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/22\/nathamunigal\/\"><em>nAthamunigaL<\/em><\/a> (this is explained in charamOpAya nirNayam &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.com\/p\/charamopaya-nirnayam.html\">http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.com\/p\/charamopaya-nirnayam.html<\/a>), and<\/p>\n<p>he who had bestowed his wishes to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a><\/em> by saying \u2018<em>Am mudhalvan<\/em> ivan [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> &#8211; 7.9.3]<em>\u2019<\/em> \u2013 that is <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/01\/alavandhar\/\">ALavandhAr<\/a>;<\/p>\n<p>they are the loving ones (<em>anbar)<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>kadi koNda mAmalarth thALgaL &#8211; <\/em><\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>in the fragrant, distinguished, and very enjoyable divine feet of such loving ones (<em>anbar)<\/em>; it would not reduce even if it is enjoyed till the end of life of a <em>charama parva nishtar<\/em> (one being subservient to His devotees); it would grow even more in its greatness;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>malar<\/em><\/strong><strong> \u2013 <\/strong>unlike the flowers of this world where they blossom only for some time, these divine feet are always in bloom; as said in &#8220;<em>athra parathra chApi nithyam yadheeya charaNam madheeyam&#8221;<\/em> (both in this and the other world surrendering to AchAryan\u2019s divine feet as the means and destiny) (is the <em>charama parva nishtai).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>thAL<\/em><\/strong>&#8211; in their divine feet who are said as in \u2018<em>yAniSA sarvabhUthAnAm thasyAm jAgarththi samyami <\/em>[<a href=\"http:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/\">SrI bhagavath gIthA<\/a>]<em>\u2019 <\/em>(When others are sleeping, my devotee is awake (and celebrating me)).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>kalandhu uLLam<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 their divine mind joins such divine feet (of <em>anbar)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>kaniyum nallOr<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 Like very ripened fruit, that is those noble ones having matured knowledge leading to bhakthi (devotion) (towards such divine feet of <em>anbar<\/em> described above);\u00a0 <em>nallOr <\/em>like <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/10\/05\/kurathazhwan\/\"><em>kUraththAzhvAn<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/kurathazhwan.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4115\" src=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/kurathazhwan-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"kurathazhwan\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/kurathazhwan-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/kurathazhwan-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/kurathazhwan-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/kurathazhwan.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><em><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/10\/05\/kurathazhwan\/\">kUraththAzhvAn<\/a> at <a href=\"http:\/\/kuram.koyil.org\">kUram<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>adi kaNdu koNdu ugandhu<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 They thought that this entity that is <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> (of mine) is also the servant of that (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>), saw its nature as subservient, just based on the eligibility of the association they liked this AthmA, and;\u00a0 like how when a very young prince loses his way and goes and sits inside the house of a hunter, and the virtuous ones who knew the prince would reach there, and show him to the king and vice versa and make them connected;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ennaiyum ALavarkku AkkinarE \u2013 <\/em><\/strong><em>ennaiyum \u2013 <\/em>like himself (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/10\/05\/kurathazhwan\/\">kUraththAzhvAn<\/a>) to him (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>), he made myself also to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>.\u00a0 <em>avarkku \u2013<\/em> the one who is having devotion towards <em>chakravarththi thirumagan (SrI rAma)<\/em>, that noble one (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>); <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s greatness is such that \u2018<em>avar\u2019 <\/em>implies only <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>AL Akkinar<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 made me suitable to get to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s divine feet; made me subservient to him;<\/p>\n<p>So I did not join him by learning that it is what is correct for me; <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/10\/05\/kurathazhwan\/\"><em>kUraththAzhvan <\/em><\/a>who is the one recommending me, got me to join and so I joined <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>;<\/p>\n<p><strong>From AzhwAr thirunagari SrI U.Ve. <em>vidhwAn thirumalai nallAn chakravarththi rAmakrishNa iyengAr\u2019s \u2018amudha virundhu\u2019:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since SrI rAmAyaNam contains SrI vaishNava principles through out, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> himself is protecting it inside his mind.<\/p>\n<p>The ocean of SrI rAmAyaNam being very enjoyable it got in and stayed in <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s mind.
