The previous pAsuram (<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/06\/arththi-prabandham-13\/\">pAsuram 13<\/a>) was a deviation (prAsangikam).&nbsp; In <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/06\/arththi-prabandham-12\/\">pAsuram 12<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">SrI rAmAnuja<\/a> asked <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\">maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/a>, \u201cOh! <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\">maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/a>! You are telling me that you surrendered unto my feet because your AchAryan had told you to do so. You say that your act of surrender to me upon your AchAryan\u2019s direction is the way to liberate you. Will that surrender suffice in your case? Don\u2019t you need to have any other qualification apart from your surrender?\u201d This is what <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\">maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/a> assumed <a href=\"https:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">SrI rAmAnuja<\/a> had in mind. To this question, <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\">maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/a> gives an answer in this pAsuram. <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\">maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/a>&nbsp;says that \u201cOh! <a href=\"https:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">SrI rAmAnuja<\/a>! If a person has all the desired qualifications, then why would he fall at your feet? You are a person who blesses all those who does not have any qualifications whatsoever. Hence, refugees including me should be protected only by you. If not for you, there is no other place for us\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>pAsuram<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>adhigAramundEl arangar irangArO<\/em><br \/>\n<em> adhigAram illAdhArkkanRO \u2013 ethirAsa<\/em><br \/>\n<em> nI iranga vEnduvadhu nIyum adhigArigaLukkE<\/em><br \/>\n<em> irangil en seyvOm yAm<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/yourlisten.com\/sarathy.thothathri\/arththi-prabandham-14\">Listen<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><iframe src=\"\/\/yourlisten.com\/embed\/html5?17808800\" frameborder=\"0\" \u00a0=\"\" style=\"width:100%;\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<strong>Word-by-Word Meanings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>adhigAramundEl \u2013 if one is completely qualified across the dimensions of knowledge and its subsequent practice<br \/>\narangar \u2013 &nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">periya perumAL (SrI ranganAthan)<\/a><br \/>\nirangArO \u2013 will he not come down and help him?<br \/>\nethirAsa \u2013 But hey ethirAsa, you<br \/>\nadhigAram illAdhArkkanRO \u2013 will step down to help out those people who does not have an iota of any of the aforementioned qualification. Is it not true?<br \/>\nnI iranga vEnduvadhu \u2013 We request you to come down and help such people (including me)<br \/>\nnIyum adhigArigaLukkE irangil \u2013 &nbsp;Even you, who is the sole refuge for all the refugees, start to help out only those people who have qualifications<br \/>\nen seyvOm yAm \u2013 what do we do then?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Simple Translation: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In this pAsuram, <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\">maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/a> tells <a href=\"https:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">SrI rAmAnuja<\/a> that he does not have any other place to go except his (<a href=\"https:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">SrI rAmAnuja<\/a>\u2019s) lotus feet. <a href=\"https:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">SrI rAmAnuja<\/a> is the only person who can save any person who does not have any refuge. <a href=\"https:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">SrI rAmAnuja<\/a> does not look out for any qualification in a person in order to surrender unto him. It is periya perumAL who looks out for qualification such as gyAnam (knowledge) and its associated practice (anushtAnam). <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\">maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/a> concludes by saying that if even <a href=\"https:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">SrI rAmAnuja<\/a> starts to look out for qualifications, then there is absolutely no place for him and others to go.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Explanation: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\">maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/a>&nbsp;tells <a href=\"https:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">SrI rAmAnuja<\/a> \u201cOh <a href=\"https:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">SrI rAmAnuja<\/a>! Look at <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi-english\/\">periya perumAL<\/a>! He blesses people like <a href=\"https:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhvAr<\/a>&nbsp;as per her request \u201c<em>puNNAnthuzhAme porunIrth thiruvarangA aruLAy<\/em> (thiruviruththam 28). <a href=\"https:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhvAr<\/a>&nbsp;after being liberated by the blessings of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi-english\/\">periya perumAL<\/a>&nbsp;says \u201c<em>aruL sUdi uyndhavan<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> 7.2.11). <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi-english\/\">periya perumAL<\/a>&nbsp;blesses only those people who have qualifications.&nbsp; But look at people like us. We do not have any such qualification. Oh the leader of all yathis (sanyAsIs)!!! You have to help people like us who have no such thing called qualification. You are the sole refuge for all those innumerable souls that have no place to go. But even if you start to look out for qualifications and help only those who have them, what qualification can people like us show in order to be recipient of your mercy?
