who is named based on <em>aththiyUr <\/em>(hasthigiri &#8211; kAncheepuram), as <em>aththiyUrar,<\/em> that is, pEraruLALap perumAL (varadharAjap perumAL); his \u2013<br \/>\n<em>iNai<\/em> \u2013 (each divine foot) which can be compared only to each other;<br \/>\n<em>kazhal keezh \u2013 <\/em>under such divine feet<br \/>\n<em>pUNda<\/em> \u2013 having attachment<br \/>\n<em>anbALan<\/em> \u2013 and having friendship\/love<br \/>\n<em>irAmAnusanai <\/em>\u00a0&#8211; in all such categories of times (as we have lost time doing other things, by all these categories of times).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>eeNdu pal yOnigaL thORu uzhalvOm<\/em><\/strong><strong> \u2013 <\/strong>As there are numerous sub-types within each of species of dhEva, manushya, etc., we enter into each such sub-types many times, and go in cycles; as said in \u2018<em>mARi mArip pala piRappum piRandhu<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> &#8211; 2.6.8]\u2019 (being born time and again in many types of beings, that is, this cycle of birth and death), we have been around in this cycle, time eternal; <em>eeNdu \u2013<\/em> (be born in groups of these births);<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>manamE <\/em>\u2013 <\/strong>Oh mind who is common for both bondage and liberation, and who is the way for knowledge to be routed! You have known about the aforementioned ways of us \u2013 saying so, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> is conversing with his close associate, his mind. Thus, saying so to his mind, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> is being very happy for the good life he has been bestowed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From AzhwAr thirunagari SrI U.Ve. <em>vidhwAn thirumalai nallAn chakravarththi rAmakrishNa iyengAr\u2019s \u2018amudha virundhu\u2019:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>kANdagu thOL\u00a0 .. pUNda anbALan <\/em><\/strong>&#8211; thiruvadi (hanuman) immersed in the beauty of shoulders of chakravarthi thirumagan in the forest when they first met; when pEraruLALan returns from procession and then removes the divine garlands, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> enjoyed looking at the beauty of His shoulders; in the forest of vindhya mountains\u00a0 pEraruLALan in the form of hunter showed the strength of His shoulders and brought <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> safely to aththiyUr &#8211; due to this <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> is fond of those shoulders.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>then aththiyUrar<\/strong><\/em><strong> &#8211; <\/strong>the place of mountain where dhEvapperumAL resides is called aththigiri (hasthigiri). aththi -&gt; elephant. (giri -&gt; mountain). Since the <em>dhig gajangaL <\/em>(protectors of the directions) worshiped this place, it is called aththigiri.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/bhuthaththazhwar\/\">bhUthaththAzhvAr<\/a> also said about this place &#8211; &#8216;<em>aththiyUrAn puLLaiyUrvAn<\/em> [iraNdAm thiruvanthAdhi &#8211; 96]&#8217; (He is presiding in aththiyUr, having <em>periya thiruvadi (garudan)<\/em> as His carrier).\u00a0 What is referred as &#8216;<em>perumAL kOil&#8217;<\/em> is also this aththiyUr.<\/p>\n<p>Note that instead of saying &#8216;<em>kachchi&#8217;<\/em> which refers to kAncheepuram, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> has mentioned &#8216;<em>aththiyUr&#8217;.\u00a0 &#8216;kachchi&#8217; <\/em>also includes other dhivya dhEsams like <em>Urakam, pAdakam, etc., <\/em>so <em>aththiyUr <\/em>refers specifically to the place where dhEvapperumAL resides.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>pUNda anbALan <\/strong><\/em> -&gt; pUNda -&gt; very strong;\u00a0 even when residing in thiruvarangam, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> was having &#8216;<em>then aththiyUrar&#8217; <\/em>for his thiruvArAdhanam.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>kAN thagu thOL aNNal <\/strong><\/em>&#8211; could be applied as adjective to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>.
