whereas even if it is the great <em>mEru<\/em> mountain if we started living there, then it would deteriorate day to day and be finished; unlike that, it is being like the ocean where even if the thirsty clouds drank a lot of its water the ocean would stay steady and complete;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ilangi &#8211; <\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>due to this greatness, like said in \u2018<em>AvirabhUth rAmAnuja dhivAkara:\u2019 <\/em>\u00a0it is being so bright;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>kozhundhu vittOngiya \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>there is difference between the ocean and him (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>) \u2013 the ocean would be greatly majestic and well set and stay put; but in case of his generosity, if everyone in the world who are the target of his kindness would come and get that from him, then that would be the reason for it to be bright, bloom and spread all the way up to paramapadham; in this way it is growing and \u2013<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>un vaLLal thanaththinAl \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>He, from the time of his incarnation itself had advised everyone with clarity, for them to understand clearly, like said in \u2018<em>aRiyAdhana aRiviththu<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/02\/thiruvaimozhi-2-3-2-oththar-mikkarai\/\">thiruvAimozhi &#8211; 2.3.2<\/a>]\u2019 (I the servitor would not know fully about all the favors done by you); and after that without being lethargic, thinking that we have done this much, he divined us SrIbhAshyam, gIthA bhAshyam, etc., and helped us so for every one to be involved in it at all times and be saved.<\/p>\n<p>Would one say creating granthams as generosity? <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/01\/alavandhar\/\">ALavandhAr<\/a> divined thus \u2013 \u2018<em>thathvEna yaSchithachithISvara thath svabhAva bhOgApavarga thadhupAyagathIr udhAra: | sandharSayan niramimeetha purANa rathnam\u2019.<\/em> (~ SrI parASara rishi gave us the granthams oh! what a great help and generosity).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>un vaLLal thanaththinAl &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0There were many in this world like karNa, Sibi, mAndhAthA who were generous \u2013 it is popular that when someone fit to receive from them approaches them asking, then they would give them the <em>artham <\/em>(wealth, etc);<\/p>\n<p>generosity of your highness is not like that; &#8211; regardless of whether one begged for it, without considering their eligibility or otherwise, not expecting any praises, but only considering their state of not having a want of any possession and not going for any other means, it (your generosity) would give them the ultimate wealth (SrIvaikuNtam) \u2013 by such a generosity of your highness;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/ramanuja-showing-paramapadham.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9037\" src=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/ramanuja-showing-paramapadham.jpg\" alt=\"ramanuja showing paramapadham\" width=\"541\" height=\"692\" srcset=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/ramanuja-showing-paramapadham.jpg 626w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/ramanuja-showing-paramapadham-234x300.jpg 234w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 541px) 100vw, 541px\" \/><\/a><em>emperumAnAr showing paramapadham<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When asked \u201cyou said about the greatness of the generous one, but how did you get clarity about this?\u201d, I say \u201cDid I go and get this information by hearsay? I looked at the nature of myself to realize his generosity (or, It is his nature to be generous, so, where do I have to go hear about this?)\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>val vinaiyEn manam<\/em> \u2013 <\/strong>Even though I don\u2019t even have any bad deed that could be construed in some way as a good deed, as said in \u2018<em>nanmai enRu pEridalAvadhoru theemai<\/em> [SrIvachana bhUshaNam \u2013 381]\u2019,\u00a0 was I like &#8211; \u2018<em>thiruvadi than nAmam maRandhum<strong>,<\/strong> puRam thozhA mAndhar<\/em>\u00a0 [nAnmukan thiruvanthAdhi &#8211; 68]\u2019 (even if they forget the divine feet of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>, they would not worship other dhEvathAs)? I knowingly performed very cruel bad deeds \u2013 in to the mind of me who is such a sinner;<\/p>\n<p>In to the mind that is said as \u2018<em>bhandhAya vishayasangee\u2019<\/em> (mind that has not rid of ties to material realm) \u2013<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>nee pugundhAy &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>you entered.\u00a0 Your highness, who have the throne of the kingdoms of both here and there, entered my mind. That is, you made my mind to be about you. When seeing me who is an extreme sinner on one side, and you of infinite greatness as said in \u2018<em>SrIvishNu lOka maNi mandapa mArgadhAyee<\/em>\u2019 \u2013 these two opposites have come together!\u00a0 This is like sage vaSishta entering the place of common people. This is a daring act!<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>irAmAnusA<\/em> \u2013<\/strong> Oh <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>veLLaich chudar \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>Even for the moon which helps the world which helps calm down, there is blemish. But the splendor (thEjas) of your highness is not like that, which is non-material and is due to the grace of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As said in \u2018<em>adiyArkkennai Atpaduththa vimalan <\/em>[amalanAdhipirAn &#8211; 1]\u2019 (He having the greatness of making me who am of low birth to be subservient to his devotees), as your highness graced me (without expecting anything in return) by getting <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/10\/05\/kurathazhwan\/\">kUraththAzhvAn<\/a> to reform me, and you made me subservient to him \u2013 so your splendor is extremely pure (<em>veLLai).<\/em> Such a great splendor of yours \u2013<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>vidum \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>(is let available to everyone); \u00a0like a virtuous person letting his mango grove to be available for any one to take from;\u00a0 as said in <em>\u2018svasithAvadhUtha paravAdhi vaibhavA\u2019<\/em>\u00a0 it is available to be celebrated by the devotees as you have given it open to everyone of them;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>un peru mEnmaikku izhukku idhu enRu <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; \u2018<em>nigama jaladhi vEla\u2019<\/em> (in the wavy ocean?) you are the full moon, you who are pious to everyone \u2013 I consider this (your entering my mind) as a black mark for your infinite greatness;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>izhukku idhu enRu &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Like how it is unbearable for the people and Isvaran when seethA pirAtti entered the place of rAvaNan, if he (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>) entered the place of his mind, he (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a>) finds it unbearable \u2013 this is how <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0 apprehension is, you see.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>en thani nenjamE &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0if there is something troubling our mind, if we discuss with someone (similar), then we would feel better. Is there any one who can help me on this? (no).\u00a0 Since there is no one like him who is afraid (about such black mark of) his greatness, it is a lonely mind.<\/p>\n<p>Such a mind of mine \u2013<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>thaLLuRRu irangum\u00a0 &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>he is loathing very much as his mind feels terrible about it.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>en thani nenjamE &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Also, for all the adverse actions I performed all these days, there is no one equal to that lowness \u2013 such a mind of mine that has concluded about itself in that way.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From AzhwAr thirunagari SrI U.Ve. <\/strong><em><strong>vidhwAn thirumalai nallAn chakravarththi rAmakrishNa iyengAr\u2019s \u2018amudha virundhu\u2019:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>While others\u2019 generosity would stop at giving everything except self and wife {<em> like dhEvapperumAL\u2019s generosity to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/12\/thiruvarangapperumal-arayar\/\">thiruvarangap perumAL araiyar<\/a>? <\/em>}<em>.<\/em> But <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s generosity has grown to the extent of entering himself into my mind. He uses the word \u2018<em>un\u2019 <\/em>(your) to show this difference.<\/p>\n<p>Also it is the difference between others who just give what others wished for, versus, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> making us wish emperumAn(Ar) and then gives that to us.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> is not feeling happy that he became nobler due to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> entering his mind \u2013 instead he feels terrible that such a great <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> entered the mind of the great sinner he is.
