So, I would not go in front of the houses of lowly people, and would not praise them about their generosity etc..<\/p>\n<p><strong>Introduction (given by <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/04\/08\/pillai-lokam-jiyar\/\"><strong>piLLailOkam jIyar<\/strong><\/a><strong>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Till now he (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a>) told about the glory of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> based on his association with <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/azhwars\/\">AzhvArs<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/22\/nathamunigal\/\">SrIman nAthamunigaL<\/a>, and in this pAsuram, he says:\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> holds as means and destination the divine feet of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/01\/alavandhar\/\">ALavandhAr<\/a> who is the lord of all those who are in the state of <em>charama parvam <\/em>(subservience to AchAryan); the lowly ones who have the blemish of <em>ahankAram (~egoistic)<\/em> etc.,<br \/>\n<em>vAsal paRRith<\/em> \u2013 by holding onto the entrance of their house, for my protection, looking for their moment (of availability, etc.).<\/p>\n<p><em>thUy neRi sEr yathigatku iRaivan <\/em>can be adjective for <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/01\/alavandhar\/\">ALavandhAr<\/a> too;\u00a0\u00a0 <em>gathi<\/em> -&gt; <em>prApyam<\/em> (goal)<\/p>\n<p><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(Starts with description of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/01\/alavandhar\/\">ALavandhAr<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>thUy neRi sEr<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 As said in <em>\u2018Sruthipadha viparIthamaksh vELakalpam Sruthaucha prakruthi purusha yOga prApAkAm chOnathathya:\u2019, <\/em>not having any lowly ways such as blemishes of <em>upAyAnthram<\/em> (using other than <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> as the means),\u00a0 <em>upAyAntharam<\/em> which is rejected based not on lack of knowledge or inability but because it is against the <em>svarUpam<\/em> (true nature) of <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a>,\u00a0 <em>upAyAnthram<\/em> which when followed would give rise to <em>ahankAram<\/em> (that we did it ourselves) like a small drop of poison mixing in water kept in a golden pot;\u00a0 instead, being according to the true nature of <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> that is fully subservient, that too not depending on <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">Isvaran<\/a> who is common both to &#8211; ties to the material world, and to <em>mOksham <\/em>(libe<em>ration)<\/em>,\u00a0 but only depending on AchAryan who helps us to get mOksham only; that too not reaching such AchAryan by himself which could give rise to <em>ahankAram<\/em> for doing it ourselves, here they (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/01\/alavandhar\/\">ALavandhAr<\/a>\u2019s disciples) were pursued by <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/01\/alavandhar\/\">ALavandhAr<\/a> himself due to his own mercy, and thus being under the shadow of such AchAryan\u2019s love;<\/p>\n<p><em>thUymai<\/em> \u2013 pure; <em>neRi<\/em> -&gt; upAyam (means).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ethikatku<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 As said in \u2018<em>aikikAmushmikam sarvam gathir ashtAksharapradha:<\/em> \u2018 and \u2018<em>mAthA pithA yuvathayasthanayA vibhUthis sarvam\u2019, <\/em>\u00a0those who are in the state that their AchAryan <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/01\/alavandhar\/\">ALavandhAr<\/a> is everything in here and there, like how the <em>sAthaka<\/em> bird would not drink anything other than rain water, they would control their mind to not like any other matters \u2013 they, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/01\/periya-nambi\/\">periya nambi<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/01\/periya-thirumalai-nambi\/\">thirumalai nambi<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/02\/27\/thirukkoshtiyur-nambi\/\">thirukkOshtiyUr nambi<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/12\/thiruvarangapperumal-arayar\/\">thiruvarangap perumAL araiyar<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/02\/24\/thirumalai-andan\/\">thirumAlai ANdAn<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/02\/15\/thirukkachi-nambi\/\">thirukkachchi nambi<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/02\/maraneri-nambi\/\">mARanEri nambi<\/a>. To such disciples, he (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/01\/alavandhar\/\">ALavandhAr<\/a>) is <em>\u2018<strong>iRaivan\u2019<\/strong><\/em><strong> \u2013 <\/strong>swAmi \u2013 the head.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>yamunaith thuRaivan<\/em><\/strong> \u2013\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/22\/nathamunigal\/\">nAthamunigaL<\/a> who had presided the shores of yamunA river; he whom such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/22\/nathamunigal\/\">nAthamunigaL<\/a> was fond of, and he who holds the name of that swAmi (krishNa who is called yamunaith thuRaivan &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0having such feet considering them as the way and the means.<\/p>\n<p>Due to that, being the head of all the people of the world, who is<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>irAmAnusan<\/em> \u2013<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>,<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ennaik kAththananE \u2013<\/em><\/strong> (saved me); it is not surprising to see him saving the knowledgeable people of the world; he saved <em>me<\/em> who was adverse, by changing me to be favourable;\u00a0 (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> is) surprised at this <em>agaditha gadanA sAmarthyam <\/em>(making the impossible happen).<\/p>\n<p><em>thUy neRi sEr yathikatku iRaivan (yamunaith thuRaivan iNai adiyAm gathi peRRu udaiyA irAmAnusan) <\/em><strong>\u00a0&#8211; <\/strong>can be taken as the adjective for <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> as well.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ini<\/em> \u2013 <\/strong>after I have become his disciple,<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ini<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 &#8211; in future from now,<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>neesar tham vAsal paRRi<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 As said in \u2018<em>yamkanchit purushAdhamam gathipayagrAmEcha malpArthatham\u2019 <\/em>\u00a0going to those who are of <em>ahankAram<\/em> and of lowly nature, and as said in \u2018<em>dhureeSvara dhvAra bahirvitharthikAthurAshikAyai rachithOyamanjali\u2019<\/em> \u00a0going to their house entrances that are like run-up to the hell;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>nidhiyai pozhiyum mugil enRu<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 praising such people saying that the clouds would pour water only but they are like a black cloud that pours all sorts of wealth;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>thuthi kaRRu<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 Doubting the divine words of virtue &#8211; \u2018<em>sonnAl virOdham Agilum solluvan kENminO, en nAvil in kavi yAn oruvarkkum kodukkilEn <\/em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> &#8211; 3.9.1]\u2019 (~ it may not be bearable for you when I say this but I will \u2013 (unlike how you are doing) I won\u2019t spend the sweet words of my poetry to anyone else (than <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>)),<\/p>\n<p>I praised others with whatever came in my mouth; practiced the words of praise said by others, and used that in front of other beings;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ulagil &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0in such world as this that gives darkness in our minds;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>thuvaLginRilEn<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 would not go through the hardships like waiting for the right moment to catch them hoping that they would take care of me.<\/p>\n<p>It implies, I shall be in the state as said in \u2018<em>gurupAdhAmbujam dhyAyEth gurOr nAma sadhA japEth | gurOr vArththASchakathayEth gurOranyam na bhAvayEth\u2019<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From AzhwAr thirunagari SrI U.Ve. <em>vidhwAn thirumalai nallAn chakravarththi rAmakrishNa iyengAr\u2019s \u2018amudha virundhu\u2019:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>yamunaith thuRaivan iNai adi &#8211; <\/em>can refer to the disciple of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/01\/alavandhar\/\">ALavandhAr<\/a> who is considered as his divine feet, that is <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/01\/periya-nambi\/\">periya nambi<\/a>.
