Let us look at the chUrNai:<\/p>\n thathO bhagavathA svayamEva AthmasanjIvanEna<\/em> thatha: \u2013 after that Explanatory Note<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n thatha: bhagavatha: svayam Eva\u00a0AthmasanjIvanEna\u00a0<\/strong>– thatha:<\/em> – after that; bhagavatha: –<\/em> by bhagavAn<\/a>; svayam Eva<\/em> – by himself;\u00a0Athma sanjIvanEna<\/em> – for AthmA’s superior sustenance.<\/p>\n avalOkanEna avalOkya<\/strong> – avalOkanEna<\/em> – through his eyes; avalOkya<\/em> – having seen. bhagavAn<\/a> with love in his eyes looks at the jIvAthmA<\/a> and blesses him.<\/p>\n sasmitham AhUya<\/strong> – sasmitham<\/em> – with a smile; AhUya<\/em> – beckoning. bhagavAn<\/a> smiles at the jIvAthmA<\/a> (the jIvAthmA was all along thinking that he is Isvaran and now he understands that he is a servitor; bhagavAn knows this and smiles at him for the awareness that has dawned on him)<\/p>\n samastha klESa apaham nirathiSaya sukhAvaham<\/strong> – samastha<\/em> – all; klESam<\/em> – troubles; apaham<\/em> – removing; nirathiSaya<\/em> – most wondrous; sukhAvaham<\/em> – pleasant. bhagavAn<\/a>‘s smile removes all the troubles of samsAram that the jIvAthmA<\/a> had suffered earlier and creates a feeling of pleasantness in him.<\/p>\n AthmIyam SrImath pAda aravaindha yugalam<\/strong> – AthmIyam<\/em> – self (bhagavAn<\/a>‘s); SrImath<\/em> – most enjoyable; pAdha<\/em> – exalted feet; aravindha<\/em> – lotus-like; yugalam<\/em> – two. The jIvAthmA<\/a> takes the two exalted, most enjoyable feet of bhagavAn and …<\/p>\n Sirasikrutham dhyAthvA<\/strong> – Sirasikrutham<\/em> – keeping on the head; dhyAthvA<\/em> – meditating. The jIvAthmA<\/a> meditates that he is taking the two exalted feet of bhagavAn<\/a> on his head.<\/p>\n amrutha sAgar anthar nimagna<\/strong> – amrutha<\/em> – nectar; sAgar<\/em> – ocean; anthar<\/em> – deep inside; nimagna<\/em> – immersed. Taking the exalted feet of bhagavAn<\/a> on his head makes the jIvAthmA feel that he has immersed himself deeply in the ocean of bhagavAn’s auspicious qualities, and without any fear of coming out, enjoys the experience.<\/p>\n sarva avayava: sukham AsItha<\/strong> – sarva<\/em> – all; avayava:<\/em> – parts; sukham<\/em> – happy; AsItha<\/em> – lives for ever. The jIvAthmA<\/a> lives with such happiness for ever in SrIvaikuNtam, doing all kainkaryam to bhagavAn<\/a>.<\/p>\n periyavAchchAn piLLai summarises what bhagavadh SrI rAmAnujar had said in gadhyathrayam in a few lines now:<\/strong><\/p>\n jIvAthmA<\/a> realises that pArathanthriyam<\/em> (dependence on bhagavAn<\/a>) is his svarUpam (basic nature). In line with that, he carries out SaraNAgathi<\/em> to bhagavAn as the path for attaining bhagavAn. Then he leaves the prAkrutha maNdalam<\/em> (materialistic realm) and reaches aprAkrutha maNdalam<\/em> (SrIvaikuNtam). There he gets to have dharshan<\/em> (audience) with bhagavAn who is worshipped constantly by the entire assemblage of nithyasUris<\/em> (those who live permanently in SrIvaikuNtam, without any connection with materialistic realm, our samsAram). Then he prays for carrying out kainkaryam to bhagavAn and is granted kainkaryam.
