Those <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/azhwars\/\">AzhwArs<\/a> took up to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>&#8216;s mercy and sung many thamizh poems which are collectively called as 4000 dhivya prabandham. Among those dhivya prabandhams, thiruppallANdu which is sung by <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\">periyAzhwAr<\/a> is considered as the most important one.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/pallandu.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2412\" src=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/pallandu.jpg\" alt=\"pallandu\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" srcset=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/pallandu.jpg 400w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/pallandu-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\">periyAzhwAr<\/a> goes to madhurai (south) king&#8217;s court to establish vishNu parathvam (supremacy of <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">vishNu<\/a>). After successfully completing the task by the grace of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>, he is greatly honored by the king. At that time, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> himself descends there to see periyAzhwAr being celebrated\/glorified. Seeing <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> in this samsAram (this material world which is full of dangers)), periyAzhwAr sings thiruppallANdu seeking protection for <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In upadhEsa raththina mAlai, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/23\/azhagiya-manavala-mamunigal\/\">maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/a> highlights the greatness of this prabandham in his 19th pAsuram.<\/p>\n<p><em>kOdhilavAm AzhwArgaL kURu kalaikkellAm<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Adhi thiruppallANdu Anadhuvum<\/em><br \/>\n<em>vEdhaththukku Om ennum adhu pOl uLLadhukkellAm surukkAy<\/em><br \/>\n<em>thAn mangalam AdhalAl<\/em><\/p>\n<p>thiruppallANdu is to be recited in the beginning of the recital of flawless dhivya prabandham just like praNavam is recited in the beginning of vEdham recital. This is because thiruppallANdu is the essence of all dhivya prabandham (as praNavam is the essence of vEdham) and it is focussed on mangaLAsAsanam to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>pallANdu means seeking out for the well-being of some one. In samskritham it is identified as mangaLAsAsanam.<\/p>\n<p>In srIvachana bhUshaNa dhivya sAsthram,<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/18\/pillai-lokacharyar\/\"> piLLai lOkAchAryar<\/a> elaborately explains the glories of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\">periyAzhwAr<\/a> in comparison to other <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/azhwars\/\">AzhwArs<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\">periyAzhwAr<\/a> is glorified as fully focussed on seeking out for <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a>&#8216;s well-being in comparison to other\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/azhwars\/\">AzhwArs<\/a> who some times look at <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> and other times look at their own sufferings in this samsAram.<\/p>\n<p>vyAkyAnam for thiruppallANdu is written by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/10\/05\/periyavachan-pillai-english\/\">periyavAchchAn piLLai<\/a> who is glorified as &#8220;vyAkyAna chakravarthy&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p
