as onbadhinAyiram (nine thousand) \u2013 starting the pAsuram with \u2018<em>nanjeeyar<\/em>\u2019 and so on.<\/p>\n<p>That is, having knowledge and other qualities that are apt for authoring a vyAkyAnam for <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a>, the knowledge that is praised by those having knowledge in vEdham, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Or, having the greatness of qualities that are auspicious for the world, like following the path of AchAryan as said in <em>\u2018AchAryavAn <\/em>[chAndhOkyOpanishath \u2013 6.14.2]\u2019 (One having AchAryan is the one who understands truth of existence (thathvam))<em>\u2019<\/em>, and such qualities, so having greatness that is celebrated by the knowledgeable ones, and who is identified as vEdhAnthigaL, that is <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/14\/nanjiyar-english\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nanjeeyar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now due to the greatness of being called \u2018vEdhAnthi <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/14\/nanjiyar-english\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nanjeeyar<\/a>\u2019, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/11\/parasara-bhattar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bhattar<\/a> divined his visit quite far and corrected him \u2013 he having such greatness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/parasara-bhattar.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1793\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1793\" src=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/parasara-bhattar.jpg\" alt=\"parasara-bhattar\" width=\"263\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/parasara-bhattar.jpg 263w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/parasara-bhattar-197x300.jpg 197w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 263px) 100vw, 263px\" \/><\/a><em> bhattar with nanjIyar at his lotus feet<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>nanjeeyar thAm <\/em><\/strong> &#8211; such a highly valued person<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>bhattar nal aruLAl &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>Due to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/11\/parasara-bhattar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bhattar<\/a>\u2019s own mercy. For him <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/11\/parasara-bhattar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bhattar<\/a>\u2019s mercy worked out directly and seen \u2013 for him to author a vyAkyAnam for <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>bhattar nal aruLAl \u2013<\/em> <\/strong><em>nallaruL<\/em> \u2013 like saying <em>\u2018namperumAL\u2019 (an adjective which highlights the greatness\/proximity to heart?)<\/em>. There it was the mercy of Him, he who is mentioned in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a>; here it is the grace of who taught about <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/11\/parasara-bhattar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bhattar<\/a>). This grace is being better than His grace &#8211; that was reason for one thousand (pAsurams in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a>); this is reason for nine thousand (onbadhinAyirappadi). This is being nine for one {means being more merciful\/kind}.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>aruLAl enjAdha Arvamudan: <\/em><\/strong>Due to his (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/11\/parasara-bhattar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bhattar<\/a>\u2019s) grace, auspicious thing happened to him (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/14\/nanjiyar-english\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nanjeeyar<\/a>). Like said as \u2018<em>nalam aruLinan<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/03\/thiruvaimozhi-1-1-1-uyarvara-uyarnalam\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruvAizmohi 1.1.1<\/a>]\u2019 (divined goodness). By such grace of him only he got unbounded love in this. <em>enjal<\/em> \u2013 contracting; (enjAdha is the opposite of it).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Arvamudan mARan maRaip poruLai Ayndhu uraiththadhu \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>Qualifying for the prabandham of one having \u2018<em>ArAdha kAdhal&#8217;<\/em><em>\u2019<\/em> (never-satiating love), with love as said in \u2018<em>Arvam peruga<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> 3.5.8]\u2019 (overflowing love), and thinking through the meanings of thamizh vEdham <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> that is \u2018<em>mARan paNiththa thamizh maRai<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/12\/upadhesa-raththina-malai-9\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">upadhESa raththina mAlai &#8211; 9<\/a>]\u2019 (thamizh vEdham divined by <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nammAzhvAr<\/a>), and to match its greatness what is the length\/number of the vyAkyAnam done by him?<\/p>\n<p>When asked so, He (<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/a>) says,<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>EronbadhinAyiram \u2013<\/em><\/strong> (beautiful nine thousand) <strong>&#8211; <\/strong>Qualifying for the beautiful thamizh maRai (<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a>).
