The distinguished abode of kaNdam<\/em>, which lies on the bank of such gangA, is the dwelling abode of purushOththtaman, who has SrI mathurA, SrI SALagrAmam, SrI dhwArakA, SrI ayOdhyA and the expansive bhadharikASramam as his abodes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n vyAkhyAnam<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n vada dhisai madhurai<\/strong> \u2013 mathurA, which is in the northern direction. Since there is a madhurai in the southern direction [where periyAzhwAr was honoured by the king vallabadhEvan], SrI mathurA has been mentioned distinctively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n thiruvAimozhip piLLai says, in his svApadhESam, that starting with vada madhurai<\/em>, though there are many divine abodes for emperumAn, the divine abode where he resides, congruent with his divine heart, is kaNdam<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n sALakkirAmam<\/strong> \u2013 SrI SALagrAmam, which is prominent among the sacred abodes<\/p>\n\n\n\n vaigundham<\/strong> \u2013 SrImadh vaikuNtam, which is aprAkrutham<\/em> [not part of samsAram, materialistic realm] and which is emperumAn\u2019s permanent dwelling abode<\/p>\n\n\n\n thuvarai<\/strong> \u2013 SrImadh dhwArakA, where emperumAn has taken residence as the bridegroom, with sixteen thousand one hundred and eight consorts carrying out servitude to him<\/p>\n\n\n\n ayOdhdhi<\/strong> \u2013 SrI ayOdhyA, which is the divine place of incarnation of SrI rAma, as mentioned in perumAL thirumozhi 8.6 \u201cayOdhdhi nagarkku adhipadhiyE<\/em>\u201d (Oh, one who is the chief of the divine ayOdhyA!) and which is the most desired place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n idam udai vadhari<\/strong> \u2013 SrI bhadhari, which is expansive and which is the abode where emperumAn incarnated in the divine forms of nara<\/em> and nArAyaNa<\/em>, mercifully instructing thirumanthram<\/em> [one among the three esoteric principles of visishtAdhvaitham]<\/p>\n\n\n\n idavagai udaiya<\/strong> \u2013 one, who has these abodes as his dwelling places<\/p>\n\n\n\n em purudOththaman irukkai<\/strong> \u2013 it is the divine dwelling place for purushOththaman, who is dear to us, his followers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n thadavarai \u2026<\/strong> – this narrates the speed with which gangA descended into earth, as a result of the strength of bhagIrathan\u2019s penance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that the himAlaya mountain, which is expansive, shifted a bit, like a stone, when gangA descended from the sky.
