They will torture people, just like those born in lowly clans subdue bulls. Further, with strong ropes, they will tie such people, hurting them, and drag them to the land of yama, with their faces rubbing on the ground. Before such an event occurs, if these people recite the name of madhusUdhanan, who annihilated the monster madu, and who is the lord of yama, meditating on the one, who is SrIya<\/em>:pathi, jagath kAraNan<\/em> et al, through his auspicious qualities such as sauSeelyam, vAthsalyam, saulabhyam<\/em> etc, thus removing the ignorance of knowledge from their hearts, they will get to beseech emperumAn, on behalf of nithyasUris, for granting them appropriate servitude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n vyAkhyAnam<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n thennavan thamar<\/strong> \u2013 the servitors [messengers] of yama, who is he lord of southern direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n seppam ilAdhAr<\/strong> \u2013 they are without honesty. Their three faculties [of mind, speech and action] would be incongruent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n sEvadhakkuvAr pOlap pugundhu<\/strong> \u2013 they will enter and harm the people [who have trodden the path away from that ordained in vEdhams] just like those, who are from lowly clans, controlling and subduing bulls [using all the foul means], causing them sorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n pinnum van kayiRRAl piNiththu eRRi<\/strong> \u2013 just like the way that those who control bulls, while their very sight would cause sorrow for people [who are in the wrong path of vEdhams], the messengers of yama will further tie the people with strong ropes, causing injury to the people with sharp knives. eRRi<\/em> \u2013 just as it has been mentioned in the saying \u201cnaman thamar seyyum vEdhanai<\/em>\u201d (agony caused by the messengers of yama), they will pierce, in the rib cage and waist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n pin munnam izhuppadhan munnam<\/strong> \u2013 they will drag such people, with their faces rubbing on the ground, such that nose, face, teeth, lips etc break [or tear].
