For that emperumAn, who was bound along with a mortar by mother yaSOdhA who has divine shoulders which are pervaded by fragrant materials and who immediately went along with it through the marudha trees which were remaining together to make them break and fall down, I lost my best bangle.

Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

kaNam … – The muster of peacocks which is in abundance out of joy, dance. The orchard is very fragrant. There are lengthy divine streets. The forts are so strong that they remain as protection. Mercifully residing in such thirukkaNNapuram.

maNam … – Due to the affection towards her son krishNa, she always decorates her shoulders with fragrant materials [so that it is pleasant for krishNa]. krishNa was bound by the likes of such mother yaSOdhA and hence instead of cutting it off, he dragged the mortar along. When enemies like bhagadhaththa shoot arrows, he shows his divine chest and stands in front of them. For the acts such as binding him with the mortar, of those who are affectionate towards him, he cannot react adversely. Hence, he drags the mortar along through the two marudha trees which remained as one [with a small gap] to make them break and fall down. For such childish krishNa, I lost my best bangle.

In the next article we will enjoy the next pAsuram.

adiyen sarathy ramanuja dasan

archived in https://divyaprabandham.koyil.org

pramEyam (goal) – https://koyil.org
pramANam (scriptures) – http://granthams.koyil.org
pramAthA (preceptors) – http://acharyas.koyil.org
SrIvaishNava education/kids portal – http://pillai.koyil.org

SrI: SrImathE SatakOpAya nama: SrImathE rAmAnujAya nama: SrImath varavaramunayE nama: periya thirumozhi >> Eighth centum >> Third decad << Previous Highlights from avathArikai (Introduction) No specific introduction. pAsuram kaNamaruvu mayil agavu kadipozhil sUzh nedumaRugilthiNamaruvu kanamadhiL sUzh thirukkaNNapuraththu uRaiyummaNamaruvu thOL Aychchi Arkkap pOy uralOdumpuNar marudham iRa nadandhARku izhandhEn en ponvaLaiyE Word-by-Word meanings kaNam – muster (group)maruvum – abundantly presentmayil – … Read more

[5,16,721

post-60263","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-irandam-ayiram","category-periya-thirumozhi","category-periya-thirumozhi-8th-centum
["GET
