Now, to get rid of his tiredness of having grazed the calves and to ensure that the dust from calves, which had settled on his divine form get removed, she prays to him to have a bath and to have his food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>kAdUgaL Udu pOyk kanRugaL mEyththu maRiyOdik kArkkOdal pUch<\/em><br><em>chUdi varuginRa dhAmOdharA<\/em>! <em>kaRRuth thULi kAN unnudambu<\/em><br><em>pEdai mayil sAyal pinnai maNALA! nIrAtti amaiththu vaiththEn<\/em><br><em>Adi amudhu sey appanum uNdilan unnOdudanE uNbAn<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Word-by-Word Meanings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>kAdugaL Udu pOy<\/em> \u2013 going through the forest<br><em>kanRugaL mEyththu<\/em> \u2013 grazing the calves<br><em>maRi Odi<\/em> \u2013 running ahead of them to control them such that they do not stray<br><em>kAr kOdal pU<\/em> \u2013 huge <em>kAndhaL <\/em>[black glory lily; also called as malabar lily] flower [<em>kAr<\/em> \u2013 black as well as eminent]<br><em>sUdi<\/em> \u2013 donning on the divine locks<br><em>varuginRa<\/em> \u2013 one who is coming<br><em>dhAmOdharA<\/em> \u2013 oh, dhAmOdhara!<br><em>un<\/em> \u2013 your<br><em>udambu<\/em> \u2013 throughout the divine form<br><em>kanRu<\/em> \u2013 induced by the calves<br><em>thULi kAN<\/em> \u2013 dust has settled, see that.<br><em>mayil pEdai<\/em> \u2013 like a peahen<br><em>sAyal<\/em> \u2013 having a form<br><em>pinnai<\/em> \u2013 for nappinnaip pirAtti<br><em>maNALA<\/em> \u2013 oh, the beloved!<br><em>nIrAttu<\/em> \u2013 required for a bath<br><em>amaiththu vaiththEn<\/em> \u2013 I have kept [all the materials] ready<br><em>Adi<\/em> \u2013 after having a bath<br><em>amudhu sey<\/em> \u2013 you should eat<br><em>unnOdudanE<\/em> \u2013 along with you<br><em>uNbAn<\/em> \u2013 in order to eat<br><em>appanum<\/em> \u2013 your father too<br><em>uNdilan<\/em> \u2013 has not eaten till now. Without any delay, come soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Simple Translation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oh, dhAmOdhara! You have come back, after grazing the calves through the forest, running ahead of them to ensure that they do not go astray from the herd, by controlling them. See, your divine form is full of dirt which had settled on you, due to the running of calves, induced by their hoofs. Oh, one who is the beloved of nappinnaip pirAtti who has the form of a peahen! I have made all the preparations for your bath. You should have a bath and have your food. In order to eat along with you, your father too has not eaten so far. Without any delay, come soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>vyAkhyAnam (Commentary)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>kAdugaL \u2026<\/strong> &#8211; going through several forests, which are unlike one another, in order to find if they have sufficient water and grass for the calves to graze and also to tend to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that though krishNa goes along the path of the calves, he also goes out looking for green pastures, with availability of water such that the calves could graze there. At the same time, he also has to go ahead of the calves and control them such that they do not go astray of the herd and get harmed by wild animals. Once the calves have had their stomachs full, krishNa feels a load off his chest and becomes happy. As a result of that happiness, he decorates himself with flowers such as malabar lily etc. yaSOdhAp pirAtti, knowing his time of return, looks out for him closely, celebrates his arrival and calls out to him as <em>Oh dhAmOdharA, <\/em>who is returning! She feels happy, recounting the relationship with krishNa, who is under her control, and who is obedient to her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>kanRugaL mEyththu maRi Odi<\/strong> \u2013 grazing the cows; going ahead of them in order to control them such that they do not go away from the herd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>kArkkOdal pUchchUdi varuginRa<\/strong> \u2013 After the calves have had their stomachs full [with grass], when they return home, krishNa is pleased [that the calves have eaten well]. Hence, he dons huge malabar lily flowers on his divine locks and comes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>dhAmOdharA<\/strong> \u2013 yaSOdhAp pirAtti reminds him about the way that he was obedient to her, as a child [by allowing her to tie him to a mortar with small pieces of rope, tied together]. Also, she wants him to be obedient to her now also.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>kaRRuth thULi kAN un udambu<\/strong> \u2013 Since you were running amidst the calves, the dust induced by their movement has settled on your entire divine form, see that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that while his divine form, with the dust induced by the calves, is attractive to yaSOdhAp pirAtti, she feels that if nappinnaip pirAtti were to see him, she will laugh at him derisively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>pEdai mayil sAyal pinnai maNALA<\/strong> \u2013 Oh, one who is the consort of nappinnaip pirAtti who has the form of a peahen! Through this, yaSOdhAp pirAtti hints that even though the dust has settled on him as a result of carrying out an activity in line with clan and that it appears beautiful to her just like the encasing around a gemstone, he still has to have a bath if he wishes to embrace his beloved, nappinnaip pirAtti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>nIrAttu amaiththu vaiththEn<\/strong> \u2013 I have kept ready, all the materials required for a bath, viz. oil, tamarind, warmed up water in a vessel and gooseberry, as mentioned in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2025\/11\/periyazhwar-thirumozhi-2-4-3\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"58142\">periyAzhwAr thirumozhi 2.4.3<\/a> \u201c<em>kAychchina nIrodu nelli kadAraththil pUriththu vaiththEn<\/em>\u201d (I have filled up the vessel with warm water along with gooseberry fruits).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Adi amudhu sey<\/strong> \u2013 Instead of coming in immediately to eat, since you are tired, you should have a bath and only after that should you come for eating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>appanum uNdilan unnOdudanE uNbAn<\/strong> \u2013 Desiring to eat with you, your father has also not eaten. Hence, without wasting time, you should come soon, after a bath, for eating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that yaSOdhAp pirAtti tells krishNa that his father is waiting for him to have his food with him. Both <em>chEthana<\/em> (jIvAthmA, who has ability to think) and <em>paramachEthana<\/em> (supreme entity, emperumAn) eat from the same vessel.
