that day is today for you all!<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>inRu <\/em><\/strong> &#8211; The one that occurred in the past and will in the future is appearing as today for him (<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/a>) due to his regard\/fondness.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>mAsip punarpUsam \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>It was in chiththirai month punarvasu star day that chakravarththy thirumagan (srI rAman) divined His incarnation.<em> \u2018ellai il seerth dhayarathan than maganAith thOnRiRRu adhu mudhalAth than ulagam pukkathIRA <\/em>[perumAL thirumozhi 10.10]<em>\u2019 \u2013<\/em> (From His incarnation as a son of dhasarathan of limitless fame, till the time when He returned to paramapadham, that is, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/18\/kulasekara-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvAr<\/a> gave us the summary of srI rAmAyaNam),\u00a0 is how this <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/18\/kulasekara-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvAr<\/a> lets us know about rAman\u2019s glory; Avoid your distractions and listen to the meanings I am talking about. Those in the other world are best in their true knowledge. Having less knowledge and as said in \u2018<em>uNdiyE udaiyE ugandhu<\/em> [perumAL thirumozhi 3-4] going eagerly after food only, clothes only (and other comforts only) and being \u2018<em>mAranAr varivenchilaikku At cheydhu<\/em> [perumAl thirumozhi 3-3]<em>\u2019 <\/em>(Surrendering to the beautiful bad arrow of manmatha and enjoying this material world), &#8212; for such people as you only is it required for me to advise.<\/p>\n<p>{notice how the vyAkyAthA (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/04\/08\/pillai-lokam-jiyar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">piLLailOkam jIyar<\/a>) is using the respective AzhvAr\u2019s prabandham itself to show the meanings of <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/11\/upadhesa-raththina-malai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">upadhEsa raththina mAlai<\/a>}<\/p>\n<p>If you asked, \u2018For your highness to advise us regarding this, what is great about this day?\u2019, then &#8211;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>pEsuginREn<\/em> etc. \u2013 <\/strong>As <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/18\/kulasekara-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">he<\/a> said about himself in \u2018kolli kAvalan kUdal nAyakan kOzhik kOn kulasEkaran [perumAL thirumozhi 2.10] (king of the place of kolli, of madhurai, and uRaiyUr, that is <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/18\/kulasekara-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kulasEkaran<\/a>), such chEra king, is <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/18\/kulasekara-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kulasEkara AzhvAr<\/a>; the day got its significance due to his incarnation, and due to that (we) are able to get relation of the good; <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/18\/kulasekara-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kulasEkaran<\/a>\u2019s birth is not of body but of life\/<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> \u2013 he said \u2018<em>UnERu selvaththu udal piRavi yAn vENdEn<\/em> [perumAL thirumozhi 4-1] (I who has realized the good from the bad, would not want the birth in the body that grows rich in meat everyday, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>The king <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/18\/kulasekara-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kulasEkarap perumAL<\/a> wished to be an animal or a plant living in thirumalai (thiruppathi)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; are how his his likes and dislikes are set.<\/p>\n<p>Being amicable to be subservient (to <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a> and his devotees) \u2013 that is a birth; this is as said in \u2018<em>Azhi am kaip pEr Ayarkku ALAm piRappu<\/em> [periya thiruvanthAdhi \u2013 79]\u2019, and having \u2018(un) <em>viNNAttuth thEsu\u2019 <\/em>(regardless of the kind of birth in this world, if one has the devotion toward <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>, then such birth would be having the greatness\/luster of your other [higher] world).<\/p>\n<p>In this way, due to this <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/18\/kulasekara-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvAr<\/a>\u2019s incarnation that is amicable to subservience, this day gets its luster.<\/p>\n<p>So this day is \u2013<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>nallavargaL koNdAdum nAL \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>(celebrated by noble ones); they are \u2018<em>kolli kAvalan sol padhikkum kalaik kavi pAdum periyavar <\/em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/11\/ramanusa-nurranthadhi-14\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rAmAnusa nURRanthAdhi \u2013 14<\/a>]\u2019 (the noble ones who recite the pAsurams of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/18\/kulasekara-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kulasEkara Azhvar<\/a> as an outlet of their love for him);<\/p>\n<p><em>nallavargaL<\/em> \u2013 they take care of others\u2019 spiritual wellness like of their own.<\/p>\n<p><em>nAL<\/em> \u2013 a day is one that is celebrated by such people.<\/p>\n<p>This <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/18\/kulasekara-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvAr<\/a>, as said in \u2018<em>ellaiyil adimaith thiRaththinil enRu mEvu manaththanAm<\/em> [perumAL thirumozhi 2.10]\u2019 ((<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/18\/kulasekara-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kulasEkara AzhvAr<\/a>) having the mind of being at most subservient, (to <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>\u2019s devotees\u2019 devotees\u2019 &#8230;)), is of such goodness, and due to that, for them he had put his hand inside the pot of snake (to prove those devotees\u2019 innocence when they were blamed for a lost jewel in <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/18\/kulasekara-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvAr<\/a>\u2019s palace) \u2013 having such greatness of character;<\/p>\n<p>This day is nurtured and celebrated by those srIvaishNavas who have lost themselves to such quality of this <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/18\/kulasekara-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvAr<\/a> and are good to his lotus feet.<\/p>\n<p>Now,<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/18\/kulasekara-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">srI kulasEkara AzhvAr<\/a> wanted to be some animal or plant or, ANYthing in the hills of thirumalai (thiruppathi), as he said in :<\/p>\n<p>\u2018<em>inbamarum selvamum ivvarasum yAn vENdEN<\/em> [perumAL thirumozhi 4.1] (I do not want the wealth that would go into enjoying various things, and I do not want this kingdom that enables them),<\/p>\n<p>and in &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>\u2018<em>uruppasi than am poR kalai algul peRRAlum AdhariyEn<\/em> [perumAL thirumozhi 4.3] (Would not want it even if I got the beautiful decorated parts of UrvaSi (consort of indhra who is the king of dhEvas)),<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Thus this <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/18\/kulasekara-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvAr<\/a> wishes to be something, anything in the hills of thirumalai and with such wishes he serves <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly,<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/07\/embar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">srI gOvindhap perumAL (embAr)<\/a> too is described in the same way, as said in \u2018<em>thruNIkrutha virinjchAthi nirankusa vibhUthaya:<\/em> [varavaramuni mukthakam \u2013 7]\u2019 (gives no importance to those like brahmA, and is having the greatness in the worlds), ignores all lowly affairs,<\/p>\n<p>and as said in \u2018<em>hrudhi nArAyaNam pasyan nAbhyagachchathrahassadhA yassarvadhArathEchchApi gOvindham tham upAsmahE <\/em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/07\/embar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">embAr<\/a> thaniyan, guruparamparA prabhAvam &#8211; 528]\u2019 (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/07\/embar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">He<\/a> who is always seeing <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nArAyaNan<\/a>, and was not able to see any place as private for happiness with his wife, we worship such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/07\/embar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gOvindhar (embAr)<\/a>), and so for other enjoyments <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/07\/embar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">he<\/a> is of the view that there is no dark and private place (since he sees <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nArAyaNAn<\/a>\u2019s brightness everywhere),<\/p>\n<p>so, for this <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/07\/embar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AchAryan<\/a> also the punarpUsam (punarvasu) has become the star day of his incarnation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/embar_madhuramangalam.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5973\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5973\" src=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/embar_madhuramangalam.jpg\" alt=\"embar_madhuramangalam\" width=\"398\" height=\"511\" srcset=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/embar_madhuramangalam.jpg 463w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/embar_madhuramangalam-234x300.jpg 234w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 398px) 100vw, 398px\" \/><\/a><em>embAr &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/madhuramangalam.koyil.org\">madhuramangalam<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>As said in \u2018<em>arasamarndhAn adi sUdum<\/em> [perumAL thirumozhi 10.7]<em>\u2019 <\/em>(falling at the feet of <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">srI rAma pirAn<\/a> who is seated with majesty in his throne), like this <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/18\/kulasekara-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvAr<\/a> who seeks the feet of <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">srI rAman<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/07\/embar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">embAr<\/a> too is like a shadow of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rAmAnujar<\/a>\u2019s divine feet.<\/p>\n<p>In the case of distaste for other demi gods, he (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/07\/embar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">embAr<\/a>) matches <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/16\/thirumazhisai-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thirumazhisai AzhvAr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/07\/embar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">embAr<\/a> too is of two births in one (brAhmaNa).<\/p>\n<p>Due to all of these reasons, this pAsuram says about the greatness of this star day being of <em>muppuri<\/em> (three auspicious things happening in a similar way).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211;
