This pAsuram mentions this narrative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>sollil arasip padudhi nangAy<\/em>! <em>sUzhal udaiyan unpiLLaidhAnE<\/em><br><em>illam pugundhu en magaLaik kUvik kaiyil vaLaiyaik kazhaRRik koNdu<\/em><br><em>kollaiyil ninRum koNarndhu viRRa avvoruththikku avvaLai koduththu<\/em><br><em>nallana nAvaRpazhangaL koNdu nAn allEn enRu sirikkinRAnE<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Word-by-Word Meanings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>nangAy<\/em>! \u2013 oh, yaSOdhAp pirAtti, who is complete with your auspicious qualities!<br><em>sollil<\/em> \u2013 if I tell you the mischiefs carried out by your son<br><em>arasip padudhi<\/em> \u2013 you become angry<br><em>un piLLaidhAn<\/em> \u2013 your son<br><em>sUzhal udaiyan<\/em> \u2013 has many deceitful activities<br><em>illam pugundhu<\/em> \u2013 entering my house<br><em>en magaLai<\/em> \u2013 my daughter<br><em>kUvi<\/em> \u2013 called, by her name<br><em>kaiyil<\/em> \u2013 from her hand<br><em>vaLaiyai<\/em> \u2013 bangle, which she wore for identity<br><em>kazhaRRik koNdu<\/em> \u2013 removed it<br><em>kollaiyil ninRum<\/em> \u2013 from the orchard<br><em>koNarndhu<\/em> \u2013 brought to the street<br><em>angu<\/em> \u2013 in that place<br><em>viRRa<\/em> \u2013 one who was selling blue berries<br><em>oruththikku<\/em> \u2013 to a lady<br><em>avvaLai<\/em> \u2013 that bangle<br><em>koduththu<\/em> \u2013 gave her<br><em>nallana<\/em> \u2013 beautiful, matching his divine form<br><em>nAval pazhangaL<\/em> \u2013 blue berries<br><em>koNdu<\/em> \u2013 bought<br>(When he was bargaining with her for giving more blue berries, I asked him whether it was he who had given the bangle to the fruit-seller)<br><em>nAn allEn<\/em> \u2013 saying \u201cIt was not I who gave her the bangle\u201d<br><em>sirikkinRAnE<\/em> \u2013 he laughed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Simple Translation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oh, yaSOdhAp pirAtti, who is complete with all the auspicious qualities! If I tell you the truth, you become angry. Your son is full of deceitful activities. He entered my house, called out my daughter, by her name, removed the bangle which she was wearing for her identity, from her hand, went to the orchard and entered the street there. He gave that bangle to a fruit-seller there, who was selling blue berries and received blue berries, which matched his divine form. When I asked him whether he had given that bangle to the fruit seller, he said \u201cI did not give\u201d and laughed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>vyAkhyAnam (Commentary)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>sollil arasip padudhi nangAy<\/strong> \u2013 more than the complaints listed out by the previous lady, another lady came and started her complaints, as if adding insult to injury. yaSOdhAp pirAtti became angry, saying \u201cOh, another mischief!\u201d The lady said \u201cOh, one who is complete with all auspicious qualities! If I tell you your son\u2019s mischiefs, you become angry\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>thiruvAimozhip piLLai, in his svApadhESam, says here that the lady, who came to complain to yaSOdhAp pirAtti says \u201cIf we tell you about your son\u2019s mischiefs, you get angry and turn your face away; if we do not tell you, that will cause a fault to your completeness\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>sUzhal udaiyan un piLLai thanE<\/strong> \u2013 it is only your son, who indulged in intolerable mischiefs, which cannot be brushed aside and have to be told you. <em>sUzhal<\/em> \u2013 deceptive act, many types of mischiefs, indulged in by him. There is nothing among these mischiefs that he does not have. When yaSOdhAp pirAtti told her \u201cWhat is the intolerable mischief that he has indulged in due to which you have to come to me like this? Tell me that\u201d the lady says further \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that <em>sUzhal<\/em> refers to many varieties of mischiefs, of which krishNa lacks none. yaSOdhAp pirAtti tells the lady \u201cDoes he indulge in mischievous activities? What did you see on his side?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>illam pugundhu en magaLaik kUvi<\/strong> \u2013 he entered my house, called out to my daughter, by her name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>kaiyil vaLaiyaik kazhaRRik koNdu<\/strong> \u2013 he removed the bangle, which was an identification for her, from her hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>kollai \u2026<\/strong>&#8211; he went to the orchard, gave the bangle to a lady who was selling blueberries<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>nallana nAval pazhangaL koNdu<\/strong> \u2013 knowing [and choosing] the blueberries which match his divine form, he was bargaining with her, saying that he needs more and she was saying that she had given sufficient fruits already. That\u2019s when I went there and asked the fruit-seller as to how she obtained that bangle. She said \u201cHe only gave me\u201d. When I asked him \u201cDid you give her the bangle?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>nAn allEn enRu sirikkinRAnE<\/strong> \u2013 \u201cIt wasn\u2019t I who did it. Did you see me with the bangle in my hand? Did you see me entering your house? Did you hear me calling out to your daughter, by her name? Did you see me removing the bangle from her hand? If you had seen, why did you not take back the bangle?\u201d He posed so many questions to me, in such a manner that I could not respond to any of those. He laughed, on top of that. Is there any mischief which is more intolerable than this?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that the lady, who came to complain to yaSOdhAp pirAtti, says that krishNa asked her all these questions, all of which were false and smiled at her. She forgot the bangle, forgot krishNa and told him \u201cI will tell her to control you such that you would not indulge again in mischiefs\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He further quotes an incident from the life of one piLLai engalAzhwAr, a disciple of nanjIyar [one of our preceptors]. One day, when he was about to sleep, krishNa came in his dream as a young boy and told him \u201cI want blueberries\u201d. When he tried to sleep, krishNa did not allow him to slip into his sleep. When piLLai engaLAzhwAr asked him \u201cWho are you?\u201d he said \u201cI am jIyar\u2019s son, <em>Ayar kO<\/em> [the head of herd-people]\u201d. He got up from his sleep, went to nanjIyar, fell at his divine feet and told him \u201cOh, jIyar! Your son does not allow me to live in my house; neither does he allow me to sleep\u201d. jIyar heard him out mercifully, went to his <em>thiruppaLLi<\/em> [place where he had mercifully placed his thiruvArAdhanap perumAL] and told him \u201cOh, my swAmy! It is not proper on your part to do like this\u201d, controlling him.
