In the earlier two thirumozhis (divine verses) of 1.8 and 1.9, yaSOdhAp pirAtti had desired to enjoy krishNa\u2019s child-like activities of \u201cachchO ahchO<\/em>\u201d and \u201cpuRam pulguvAn<\/em>\u201d, by which he would embrace her from the front and at the back. She prayed to him to carry these out and when he did so, she enjoyed the flavour of his activities. periyAzhwAr too, desiring to enjoy the flavour of his activities, prayed in a similar vein and enjoyed those activities, as if he had been present during those times. Next, those who were living during that time, desired to see krishNa\u2019s activity, like a child, of playing appUchchi<\/em> [in this, the child will fold back the upper eye lids in both the eyes such that the reddish fleshy portion of the lid is seen, giving the impression of an insect having come there]. When he showed that, in line with his birth in the human form and carrying out the activities of a child in that age, they were very happy and shared their happiness with each other.  Though AzhwAr came much later, in time, he too enjoys this activity as if he had been present then, and becomes happy. This thirumozhi describes these activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

thiruvAimozhip piLLai, in his svApadhESam, says: Among AzhwArs, a few had taken over the pathos of pirAttimAr [divine consorts of emperumAn], made emperumAn as a youth of twenty-five years of age, and in the pathos of pirAtti, desired to embrace him completely. However, periyAzhwAr took over the pathos of a mother, making emperumAn\u2019s quality of simplicity as the natural quality [emperumAn displays his qualities in two forms: those which are related to his eminence [such as paramapadha nAthan (lord of SrI vaikuNtam), kshIrAbdhi nAthan (lord of milky ocean) et al] and those which are related to his simplicity [being easily approachable, treating his followers as his dear life etc]. Through that nature of simplicity, he made emperumAn as his child, making his eminence as a rarely displayed quality. Treating krishNa\u2019s activities of a child as those which are natural for the incarnation that he had undertaken, using the manner in which yaSOdhAp pirAtti and others enjoyed those activities as a pretext, he enjoyed those activities starting from vaNNa mAdangaL<\/em> (periyAzhwAr thirumozhi 1.1<\/a>). In the last two thirumozhis (1.8<\/a> and 1.9<\/a>), through achchO achchO<\/em> padhigam (decad) and puRam pulguvAn<\/em> padhigam, he attained the desire of embracing emperumAn completely. In this [2.1] thirumozhi, he saw his activity of appUchchi kAtttudhal,<\/em> which he had shown to those in thiruvAyppAdi, without any benefit for himself, when emperumAn showed to him too and enjoys that. Alternatively, it could be said that he witnessed these activities, along with those in thiruvAyppAdi, at the same time when they saw these activities, just as it has been mentioned in the pAsuram \u201cpaNdu avan seydha kirIdai ellAm<\/em>\u201d (all the activities which emperumAn indulged in, at that time).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
