Holding an eminent umbrella made with many feathers of peacocks strung together, like being under the shade in a garden, with followers singing in many tunes, carrying out mangaLASAsanam to him, krishNa, who earlier went to the ritual arena of mahAbali as a dwarf and measured all the worlds with his divine feet, will embrace my back. With the form of one before he measured the worlds, viz. vAmana, he will embrace me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>vyAkhyAnam (Commentary)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>veNkalam \u2026<\/strong> &#8211; tying a cord with bronze leaf strung in it, on his divine waist and playing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>kaN pala \u2026<\/strong> &#8211; under the shade of a huge umbrella strung with peacock feathers, like a garden. <em>kaN<\/em> \u2013 peacock feathers. <em>peydhal<\/em> \u2013 stringing. This speaks about stringing the peacock feathers together. k<em>arumai<\/em> \u2013 eminence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>thazhai<\/strong> \u2013 umbrella. Referring that to a garden is to manifest the coolness brought about by the peacock feathers. Alternatively, if the text had been <em>kaN pala peydhu<\/em> (instead of <em>kaN pala peydha<\/em>), the words should be rearranged as <em>karum thazhai \u2013 kaN pala peydhu<\/em> \u2013 the meaning would be that many feathers were donned on the divine locks as a decorative feature. <em>karum thazhai<\/em> \u2013 bunch of peacock feathers. <em>kaN<\/em> \u2013 refers to the eye seen on the feather of a peacock. Donning peacock feathers on the locks is apt for his clan of being a cowherd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that <em>karum thazhai<\/em> will also refer to the bunch of peacock feathers and to the eyes of his friendly [women] followers who would be looking at him constantly with their eyes. His divine form was such that even men would lose out their hearts and eyes to him, as said in SrI rAmAyaNam ayOdhyA kANdam 3-29 SlOkam \u201cp<em>umsAm dhrushti chiththa apahAriNim<\/em>\u201d (SrI rAma would steal the hearts and vision of men)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>kAvin kIzh<\/strong> \u2013 decorating himself with peacock feathers like this and playing, in the shade of a garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>paN \u2026<\/strong> &#8211; just as it has been said in SrI vishNu dharmam mAngalyasthavam \u201c<em>sangais surANAm<\/em>\u201d (group of celestial entities) and in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2018\/08\/thiruvaimozhi-7-4-1-azhi-ezha\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"21822\">thiruvAimozhi 7-4-1<\/a> \u201c<em>thisai vAzhi ezha<\/em>\u201d (people in every direction praising emperumAn), all the favourable entities [emperumAn\u2019s followers] were singing in many tunes, carrying out <em>mangaLASAsanam<\/em> (praising emperumAn and wishing him well).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that they were carrying out mangaLASAsanam to the divine feet which went up to measure the worlds, just as it has been said in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2017\/06\/mudhal-thiruvandhadhi-1\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"16004\">mudhal thiruvandhAdhi 1<\/a> \u201c<em>sUttinEn solmAlai<\/em>\u201d (strung garlands of words for emperumAn).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>paNdu \u2026<\/strong> &#8211; during that time when emperumAn went to mahAbali and received water on his hand [as token of taking three steps of land with his divine feet].
