Oh, one who is like my father, who united the children of a brAhmaNa who came and complained to you about his children who slipped out of his hands, by conducting a chariot, going to your effulgent abode of SrI vaikuNtam, bringing back the brAhmaNa\u2019s children and united them with their mother! Oh, one who tends to cows! Oh, one who is obedient to the herd-folk and who has the arrogance of a bull which is battle-ready! You should dance; you should dance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>vyAkhyAnam (Commentary)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>thuppu \u2026<\/strong> &#8211; <em>thuppu<\/em> \u2013 <em>midukku<\/em>; having strength; this refers to the skill in controlling bulls. Alternatively, this would also refer to the mental strength by which the herd-folks asked kaNNan to win over the seven bulls, without considering the cruelness of the bulls and the softness of kaNNan\u2019s divine form. Without going against the words of such herd-folks, at one point of time \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>thUya \u2026<\/strong> &#8211; keeping nappinnaip pirAtti, who has beautiful, dark locks as a result of which she has the appearance of a peacock with eminent features as the reason, and considering that in order to unite with her, \u201cIt will be good to listen to anyone\u2019s words\u201d, krishNa listened to the words of herd-folk, without going back on those words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>thiruvAimozhip piLLai says, in his svApadhESam, that <em>thUymai<\/em> [purity of yaSOdhAp pirAtti\u2019s locks] is that krishNa desires her locks. He further says that the term <em>thuppu<\/em> would also refer to firmness in heart. In other words, without looking at the cruel nature of the bulls and the softness of krishNa\u2019s divine form, the herd-folks were firm in their minds that he should win over them in order to marry nappinnaip pirAtti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>nal vidai \u2026<\/strong> &#8211; You had destroyed the seven cruel bulls as if they were wheatworms. Oh, one who has that strength such that herd-folk would celebrate saying \u201cYou are the head of our clan\u201d and became their head! The term <em>nalvidai<\/em> [good bull] is similar to saying <em>nalla pAmbu<\/em> [good snake, cobra], referring to their cruel nature [in a tone of sarcasm].<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that in the term <em>nalla thiRal<\/em> [beneficial skill], the benefit for his skill was that the activity was undertaken for the sake of others [his followers. Here, the act of winning over the seven bulls was undertaken to satisfy the herd-folk].<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is it only this much? AzhwAr mercifully mentions emperumAn being the lord of both <em>vibhUthis<\/em> [realms], by narrating about how he went to SrI vaikuNtam in order to fulfil the wish of someone in samsAram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>thappina \u2026<\/strong> &#8211; the children of the brAhmaNa who disappeared, soon after their birth, even before their mother could see them.
