Since emperumAn redeemed the vEdhams from the monsters and returned them to brahmA, protecting him, he is referred to as brahmA’s mother. thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that he was the abode of birth for both brahmA, who appeared on a blossomed lotus, and for the lotus itself. Alternatively, thammanai could be considered as than anai, thus, becoming mother of brahmA.

tharaNai thalam …– Oh, one who grew, filling up all the worlds, including the galaxies of stars and other worlds outside of those galaxies, like a cool breeze and cool moon, touching them with your divine feet! This narrates the divine activity of emperumAn to fulfil the desire of his follower, indhra, who had lost all his three worlds to mahAbali. thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that emperumAn touches all the worlds here, where people are subservient to other deities, and all the galaxies of stars which have entities thinking that they are totally independent, with his divine feet, like a gentle breeze and like moon. Since emperumAn became happy that his task had got fulfilled, he was elated with joy.

vEzhamum … – Oh, one who came out victoriously, when kuvalayApeedam and the seven bulls came charging at you, in order to harm you!
