She is comparing his toes and nails with gemstones. Just as toes are disorderly, varying in size from one another, the gemstones such as pearls. rubies, diamonds and pure gold are placed in a disorderly way. They have been embellished together in a necklace or ring, just like the ten divine toes of little krishNa are seen together, without any gap.

vyAkhyAnam (Commentary)

muththum … – while applying decorative colours to the toe-nails, different colours are applied to various nails, to give contrasting colours. In a similar way, the nails on the toes of krishNa appear to be of different hues. The big toe appears like golden hue, the next appears like a pearl, the one next to that like ruby, the one next to that like diamond etc. They appear to complement the complexion of krishNa which is like a bluish gemstone. They are without any shortcoming in their sAmudhrikAlakshaNam (physiognomy) and appear to be together. yaSOdhAp pirAtti is inviting her friends, who have beautiful, shiny foreheads, to come and witness the divine nails and toes. Reference to pearls, rubies etc is indicative of all the gemstones.

In his svApadhESam, thiruvAimozhip piLLai says that addressing the herd-women as oNNudhaleer is indicative of the fact that they have control over their five senses just like prapannars (those who have surrendered to emperumAn) have control over their senses.

We shall next consider the 3rd pAsuram of this thirumozhi.

adiyEn krishNa rAmAnuja dhAsan

archived in https://divyaprabandham.koyil.org

pramEyam (goal) – http://koyil.org
pramANam (scriptures) – http://granthams.koyil.org
pramAthA (preceptors) – http://acharyas.koyil.org
SrIvaishNava education/kids portal – http://pillai.koyil.org

SrI: SrImathE SatakOpAya nama: SrImathE rAmAnujAya nama: Sri varavaramunayE nama: periyAzhwAr thirumozhi >> First Centum >> Second Decad Previous avathArikai (Introduction) In the earlier pAsuram, AzhwAr enjoyed the beauty of krishNa’s feet, on the inner side.
