With the intention of winning it, periyAzhwAr, who had not learnt from an AchAryan, extolled from vEdhams, without leaving anything, about the supremacy of emperumAn. He is apt to be worshipped by celestial entities too. He is the father-in-law of SrI ranganAthar himself. We also said \u201cIn an earlier time, when <em>purushArtham<\/em> was not known, periyAzhwAr had established the supremacy of Sriman nArayaNan and claimed the treasure [given by the pANdiya king] by quoting from vEdhams\u201d. Oh, heart! Many people blew conches on their hands, saying \u201cbhattar pirAn, who is the benefactor for brAhmaNas has come\u201d.
