You, indulging in mischievous activities, having periya pirAttiyAr on your divine chest, do not come to the places where we are playing and do not destroy our toy-houses.

vyAkyAnam (Introduction)

nAmam Ayiram Eththa ninRa nArAyaNa naranE – this could be looked at in two ways – 1. When an infant falls sick, just as a mother takes the medicine [so that it will reach the infant’s body through her milk], in order to show, to the chEthanan (one with knowledge) on earth, the way a teacher and pupil should behave, emperumAn had taken incarnation as both nArAyaNan (emperumAn) and naran (chEthanan), and carried out penance in badharikASramam. Looking at this, nithyasUris asked him “For what purpose are you carrying out this penance?” and recited sahasranAmam (reciting thousand names of emperumAn) and praised him. 2. Just as it has been mentioned in rig vEdham ashtakam 1-2-7 and in sAmavEdham 3-18-2-4 “thadh vishNO: paramam padham sadhA paSyanthi sUraya: l dhivIva chakshurAthatham ll thadh viprAsO vipanyavO jAgruvAmsas samindhathE l vishnOr yath paramam padham ll” (nithyasUris constantly keep looking at the exalted abode of vishNu. That paramapadham is effulgent, just like sUryan [sun] who illuminates everything, who is in the sky and who is like an eye for the entire world. In that paramapadham of vishNu’s, nithyasUris, the wise ones, those who have praising emperumAn as their nature and who are always awake, shine splendorously), nithyasUris, who do not have any connection with samsAram (materialistic realm) praise paramapadha nAthan, who is ruling over both leelA vibhUthi (samsAram) and nithyavibhUthi (spiritualistic realm) [as nArAyaNa]. They address as naranE the same paramapadha nAthan who incarnated as the divine son of emperor dhaSaratha, just as it has been mentioned in SrI rAmAyaNam bAla kANdam 1-5 “EthadhichchAmyaham SrOthum param kauthUhalam hi mE l
maharshE! thvam samarthO’si gyAthum Evam vidham naram ll” (Oh, great sage! I am desirous of hearing about this matter; I am having high degree of eagerness. You are capable of knowing about this person). Thus, through the verse nAmam Eththa ninRa nArAyaNa, emperumAn’s presence in paramapadham, manifesting his opulence such that nithyasUris, who are omniscient, would praise his svarUpam, rUpam, guNam and vibhUthi (his divine basic nature, divine form, divine qualities and divine wealth, respectively) was mentioned. Through the verse naranE, the same emperumAn, leaving paramapadham and incarnating in ayOdhyA such that everyone, without any distinction between the wise and ignorant, would praise him, after engaging with his auspicious qualities such as simplicity etc, just as it has been mentioned in SrI rAmAyaNam yudhdha kANdam 131-102 “rAmO rAmO rAma ithi prajAnAmabhavan kathA: l
rAmabhUtham jagadhabhUth rAmE rAjyam praSAsathi ll” (The conversation among the citizens was only about rAma, repeatedly. As soon as they said that they are not able to tolerate his mischiefs, kaNNan responded saying “Did I indulge in mischief? Didn’t you people initially indulge in it?
