ANdAL is the daughter of vittuchiththan, who is the controller of those who live in SrIvillipuththUr, where mansions have the appearance of mountains which have been joined together. She implored manmathan, who has a bow made of sugarcane and arrows made of flowers, by bowing to his feet and asked him to unite her with emperumAn who has the beauty of a bluish gemstone. Those who are capable of reciting her sweet pAsurams, which are like garlands of thamizh [words] will attain the divine feet of emperumAn, who is the head of nithyasUris, who do not have any fatigue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>karuppu vil \u2026.. paNindhu<\/strong> \u2013 she was such a noble person that she should have praised emperumAn\u2019s bow, SArngam and arrows, just as periyAzhwAr had said in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/11\/thiruppallandu-12-pallandu-enru\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"2479\">thiruppallANdu 12<\/a> \u201c<em>sArngamennum villANdAn<\/em>\u201d (one who controlled the bow, SArngam) and thirumangai AzhwAr had said in periya thirumozhi 7-3-4 \u201c<em>sarangaL ANda thaNdAmaraik kaNNanuukkanRi en manam thAzhndhu nillAdhE<\/em>\u201d (my mind will not bow down to anyone other than to kaNNan who controlled his bow SArngam and who has lotus-like eyes). Instead, she had to speak about <em>kAman<\/em>\u2019s bow and arrow and fall at his feet. This is because of her urge to be with emperumAn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>angOr kariyalaRa maruppinai osiththu<\/strong> \u2013 the elephant kuvalayApeedam was made to wait outside the royal court of king kamsan. It was unique with respect to its form and strength. Its tusks were broken effortlessly such that it cried out in pain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>puL vAy piLandha<\/strong> \u2013 tearing the mouth of monster <em>bakAsuran<\/em> who came in the form of a stork. Through these two incidents, removal of undesirables was narrated. Now, she speaks about the divine form of emperumAn which in itself is the benefit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>maNivaNNaRku<\/strong> \u2013 [emperumAn] has a physical beauty which is like a bluish gemstone such that one can keep looking at his divine form, without taking one\u2019s eyes off. The implied meaning here is that since he destroys enemies and has a beautiful physical form, she had to fall at the feet of <em>kAman <\/em>in order to attain emperumAn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ennai vaguththidu enRu<\/strong> \u2013 unite me with him since \u201che is the means as he removes the undesired and he is the ultimate benefit as he has a beautiful form\u201d. Next, she reveals the person who said like this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>poruppanna mAdam \u2026. kOdhai<\/strong> \u2013 she is ANdAL, the divine daughter of periyAzhwAr who is the controller of those who reside in SrIvillipuththUr. This place has mansions which appear like mountains which have been lined up together. Next, she defines the benefits which will accrue to those who recite the pAsurams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>viruppudai \u2026. naNNuvarE<\/strong> \u2013 Those who recite the sweet pAsurams composed by ANdAL due to her urge in attaining emperumAn, knowing its meanings, will attain the divine feet of emperumAn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>mAlai vallAr viNNavar kOn adi naNNuvarE<\/strong> \u2013 though she was born to periyAzhwAr, who was a <em>sAthvikar<\/em> (having noble qualities), due to her urge in attaining emperumAn, just like nammAzhwAr and thirumangai AzhwAr had attempted to attain emperumAn through the mode of engaging in <em>madal<\/em>, she had to fall at the feet of <em>kAman<\/em>.
