previous (kathikkup pathari)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>pAsuram 15<\/p>\n<p><strong>Introduction (given by <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/a>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He says that he would not join with those who do not involve themselves in the qualities of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a> who is interested in serving the divine feet of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\">periyAzhvAr<\/a> &#8211; so I do not have any deficiency.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Introduction (given by <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/04\/08\/pillai-lokam-jiyar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">piLLailOkam jIyar<\/a>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the previous pAsuram, connected <a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.in\/2012\/10\/archavathara-anubhavam-kulasekara.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kulasEkarap perumAL<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>, and said about the magnificence that <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a> would not leave him, and celebrated <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>; in this pAsuram, after seeing the one who is benevolent to everything and protector of everything, that is <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sarvEswaran<\/a>, he did not focus on His nature of His protecting, etc., but with the overflowing love, and with the following fear of what might happen to Him, he lost his sense and protected Him with his <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/06\/thiruppallandu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruppallANdu<\/a> &#8211; that is <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">periyAzhvAr<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a> has directed his own mind to be devoted to such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvAr<\/a>\u2019s divine feet; He is having such a glory;<br \/>\n<em>onRum pArAdhu<\/em> \u2013 not seeing even one of His auspicious grand qualities, like how for those who are anithyar (not going to live forever), and rakshya bhUthar (in need of protection), someone would do mangaLAsAsanam (wishing them well),<br \/>\n<em>avanai<\/em> \u2013 applying that to Him,<br \/>\n<em>pallANdu enRu<\/em> \u2013 saying <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/06\/thiruppallandu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pallANdu, pallANdu<\/a>, and increasing His duration\/life,<br \/>\n<em>kAppidum<\/em> \u2013 saying \u201c<em>un sevvadi sevvi thirukkAppu <\/em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/06\/thiruppallandu-1-pallandu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruppallANdu &#8211; 1<\/a>]<em>\u201d <\/em>thus doing mangaLAsAsanam to Him;<br \/>\n<em>pAnmaiyan thAL<\/em> \u2013 doing such mangaLAsAsanam as his nature; such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">periyAzhvAr<\/a>\u2019s divine feet<br \/>\n<em>pErAdha<\/em> \u2013 not separating (from such divine feet)<br \/>\n<em>uLLaththu<\/em> \u2013 having such heart\/mind;<br \/>\n<em>irAmAnusan than<\/em> \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s<br \/>\n<em>piRangiya sIr<\/em> \u2013 infinite qualities<br \/>\n<em>sAra manisaraich chErEn<\/em> \u2013 would not join those who do not depend on (those qualities);<br \/>\n<em>ini<\/em> &#8211; after my getting such mind,<br \/>\n<em>enakku enna thAzhvu<\/em> \u2013 what deficiency would I possess?<br \/>\n&#8212;<br \/>\npiRangi \u2013 also means brightness; excess;<br \/>\nsOrAdha kAdhal \u2013 also means, love that does not shrink; Or, sOrAdha kAdhal \u2013 devotion without any corruption of directing it to anything else in addition; <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>perum suzhippAl \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>the vortex he is caught in is not a negligible one, you see.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>perum suzhippu \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>as the complete devotion flooded out uncontrollably, in the midst of its enormous flow the vortex deep and wide was formed, and he got caught in that;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>thollai mAlai<\/strong><\/em> \u2013 As said in <em>\u201cnithyas sathya:\u201d<\/em> he is the eternally existing; as said in \u201c<em>EkOhavai nArAyaNa AsIth, na brahmAnEsAna:, sa EkAkIna ramEtha<\/em>\u201d (~in the beginning only nArAyaNan existed, not brahma, not Isan),<\/p>\n<p>and as said in \u201c<em>achithavishtAn praLayE janthUnavalOkya jAtha nirvEdha:<\/em>\u201d [In the period of praLayam (annihilation) <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">perumAn<\/a> loathed that the janthus (chEthanAs being like non-sentients) were inactive along with <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/09\/thathva-thrayam-achith-what-is-matter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">achith<\/a> (non-sentients))], <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a> saw that the <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AthmAs<\/a> are lost in the big ocean that is samsAram, and loathed himself \u2013 such love towards us; such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sriya:pathi<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>onRum pArAdhu<\/strong><\/em> \u2013 (not looking at any of these) &#8211; As said in \u201c<em>mangaLAncha mangaLam\u201d, and \u201cnavAsudhEvAthparamasthi mangaLam\u201d, and \u201cuyarvara uyar nalam udaiyavan \u2013 ayarvaRum amarargaL adhipathi <\/em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/03\/thiruvaimozhi-1-1-1-uyarvara-uyarnalam\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruvAimozhi 1.1.1<\/a>], and \u201c<em>nigar il amarar munik kaNangaL virumbum thiruvEnkadaththAnE<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> 6.10.10]\u201d,<em> and \u201conRum thEvum ulagum uyirum maRRum yAdhum illA anRu nAnmugan thannOdu dhEvar ulagOdu uyir padaiththAn<\/em> <em>\u201d, <\/em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> 4.10.1] not describing Him along these lines where He is identified as the creator of all the worlds, who controls all, and who can give all auspiciousness, but instead as his ecstasy out of love for Him..; that is, not giving consideration to any of these aspects of Him; not paying attention to any of these;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>avanaip pallANdu enRu kAppidum<\/strong> <strong>pAnmaiyan thAL <\/strong><\/em>&#8211; Like how in this world where laymen live for a limited time, as said in <em>\u2018AyurAsAsthE\u2019, people would wish \u2018dhIrghAyushmAnbhavEth\u2019 (~live long), <\/em>he is doing that to sriya:pathi (thAyAr\u2019s husband), by singing \u201c<em>pallANdu pallANdu pallAyiraththANdu, pala kOdu nUru Ayiram, mallANda thiN thOL maNi vaNNA! un sevvadi sevvith thiruk kAppu<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/06\/thiruppallandu-1-pallandu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruppallANdu \u2013 1<\/a>]<em>\u201d, and \u201cnin vala mArbinil vAzhginRa mangaiyum pallANdu, sudar Azhiyum pallANdu, ap pAncha channiyamum pallANdu <\/em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/06\/thiruppallandu-2-adiyomodum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruppallANdu \u2013 2<\/a>]<em>\u201d, <\/em>like so <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvAr<\/a> is creating extremely long time, and increasing it further, and till the time the time exists, and says should stay with the same wellness and live for ever with all his wealth; doing mangaLAsAsanam thus, and doing so is his nature, that is <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">periyAzhvAr<\/a>;<\/p>\n<p>such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvAr<\/a>\u2019s divine feet (<em>thAL)<\/em>;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>pErAdha uLLaththu irAmAnusan \u2013<\/em> <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s who is having the mind of never leaving such divine feet (of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">periyAzhvAr<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>piRangiya sIr \u2013 <\/strong>ever growing auspicious qualities; As said in <em>\u201ckudhrushti kuhanAmukE nipathitha: parabrahmana: kara graha vichakshaNOjayathi lakshmaNOyam muni:\u201d<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> fell in the cave of wrong meanings propagated by kudhrishti (who understand\/explain vEdhas wrongly); it was <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a> who gave his hands and pulled out <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> from that cave (by giving srIbhAshyam)\u201d (thus <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a> is equivalent to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">periyAzhvar\u00a0 <\/a>in doing mangaLAsAsanam), and made such correct meanings to grow in qualities for ever; so is <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s auspicious qualities are ever growing.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>sAra manisarai<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 the people who have Not considered such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a> as their destiny. As said in <em>\u201cnrudhEha mAdhyam prathilabya dhurlabham\u201d, <\/em>even though they are having the body of humans to use for hearing and thinking (about <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>as said in <em>\u201cpuvAn bhavApththin natharEth sa Athma:\u201d<\/em> (not going to easily cross the ocean (samsAram \/ material life)), humans who would tend to lose their ways; would it be possible to rest thinking that they moved afar due to their ineligibility; unfortunate ones who ignored the abilities of their human form;<\/p>\n<p><strong>sErEn \u2013 <\/strong>very determined to not relate to such people ever; as said in <em>\u201cnAsthi sankathi: asmAkam yushmAkanchaparasparam\u201d<\/em>, left them like the tradition of dripping the water from a holed pot;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>enakku enna thAzhvu iniyE \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>after this, for me who is under <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s kindness, there is no deficiency; there is no inferiority; as said in \u201c<em>thadhEvamushNAthi asubhAnyachEshatha:\u201d<\/em><strong>, <\/strong>(removes all asubham (inauspiciousness)\u201d and in <em>\u201csidhdhE thadhIya sEshathvE savarththAs sambhavanthihi\u201d <\/em>(those who serve other devotees will get all wishes fulfilled), there is no problem and everything is easily obtained in my hand.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From srI u.vE. thirumalai nallAn chakravarthy rAmakrishNa iyengAr\u2019s \u2018amudha virundhu\u2019:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>thollai mAlai onRum pArAdhu<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">periyAzhvAr<\/a> just saw what was in front of him, the beauty and tenderness of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>&#8216;s form, and not his greatness;<\/p>\n<p><em>pallANdu enRu kAppidum<\/em> &#8211; like how we would wish someone to live well, those who do not have their own ability to protect themselves, here <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">periyAzhvAr<\/a> is wishing well for <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">perumAn<\/a>;<\/p>\n<p>Isn&#8217;t <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvAr<\/a>&#8216;s behaviour same as normal humans who just see the beauty of outward appearance, and as normal humans wishing well the other people? In the case of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvAr<\/a> this did not happen due to the karmas, but due to excess of his devotion and love towards <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> it crossed that stage of expecting something from Him, but to the stage of worrying about His safety.<\/p>\n<p>maNavALA mAmunigaL said, &#8220;<em>pongum parivAlE villipuththUr pattar pirAn peRRAn, periyAzhvAr ennum peyar<\/em> [updhEsa raththina mAlai &#8211; 18] (~due to overflowing love, the <a href=\"http:\/\/srivilliputhur.koyil.org\/\">srIvillipuththUr<\/a>&#8216;s head of the learned got the name of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">periyAzhvAr<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Now, can <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> not pull <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvAr<\/a> out of the vortex of love, by showing his greatness? It seems He was not able to. Only if one had eyes to see would <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> be able to show it. Here <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvAr<\/a> due to the excess of devotion was behaving like a blind and not seeing the greatness of Him;
