When queried \u201cEven if he [AzhwAr] gives them all up and does not mingle with them, there may be some among them who would compulsively hold on to him; are there people like that?\u201d AzhwAr says in this pAsuram \u201cI made myself such that all of them would give up on me\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>pEyarE enakku yAvarum yAnum Or<\/em><br \/><em>pEyanE evarkkum idhu pEsi en<\/em>?<br \/><em>AyanE<\/em>! <em>arangA<\/em>!<em> enRu azhaikkinREn<\/em><br \/><em>pEyanAy ozhindhEn empirAnukkE<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Word-by-Word Meanings<\/strong><br \/><em>yAvarum<\/em> \u2013 all the people of this world (who desire the evanescent worldly pursuits)<br \/><em>enakku<\/em> \u2013 for me (who desires the eminent benefit)<br \/><em>pEyarE<\/em> \u2013 mad only<br \/><em>yAnum<\/em> \u2013 I too<br \/><em>evarkkum<\/em> \u2013 for all (of them)<br \/><em>pEyanE<\/em> \u2013 am a mad person only<br \/><em>idhu pEsi en<\/em> \u2013 what is the purpose of discussing this elaborately?<br \/><em>AyanE<\/em> \u2013 Oh krishNa who incarnated as cowherd!<br \/><em>arangA<\/em> \u2013 Oh SrI ranganAtha!<br \/><em>enRu azhaikkinREn<\/em> \u2013 I am calling out this way<br \/><em>empirAnukkE<\/em> \u2013 in matters relating to the supreme entity<br \/><em>pEyanAy ozhindhEn<\/em> \u2013 I became mad<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Simple Translation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To me, all the people of this world are mad only. I too am mad for those people. What is the purpose of speaking about this? I am calling out to the supreme entity as \u201cOh krishNa, who incarnated as cowherd!\u201d \u201cOh SrI ranganAtha!\u201d I became mad in matters relating to my lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>pEyarE enakku yAvarum<\/strong> \u2013 I gave up on the people of the world, thinking \u201cLeaving aside the permanent benefit of <em>bhagavath kainkaryam<\/em> (carrying out service to emperumAn), these people are desirous of worldly pursuits such as <em>Sabdham<\/em> (sensory perceptions such as sound, sight etc). They are mad\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>yAnum Or pEyanE evarkkum <\/strong>\u2013 those people also gave up on me saying \u201cInstead of enjoying all the worldly materials which can be seen, he is firmly believing that there is an entity which is supreme, which has not been seen by anyone, and is infatuated with it. He is verily mad\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>idhu pEsi en<\/strong> \u2013 what is the purpose of talking elaborately about this?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>AyanE<\/strong> \u2013 He came in person by incarnating as kaNNan (krishNa, the cowherd) to make everyone see him bodily, disproving the belief that only the wise people, with their spiritual vision, can see the form of emperumAn. He manifested his <em>svarUpam<\/em> (basic nature) and his <em>svabhAvam<\/em> (basic characteristics) to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>arangA enRu azhaikkinREn<\/strong> \u2013 to ensure that even those who were not present during his times of incarnation could enjoy him subsequently, he came and reclined in the huge temple at SrI rangam. I called out to such periya perumAL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>pEyanAy ozhindhEn empirAnukkE<\/strong> \u2013 I transformed myself such that others would think \u201cThis person who is mad about the supreme entity, who cannot be seen, is not apt for us, who believe that what is seen is perceptible.
